en You are going to see the two of them lead us all season and the thing is, they are only going to keep getting better. They don't run all year. They don't run track.

en The girls finished the 2005 season with a record of 9-0, our first undefeated season, and the league championship. This year's girls group is our largest and most talented team. With over 20 girls on the squad and talent in every event, the Lady Tigers look stronger than ever as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track.

en If you have a good track season, it'll lead to a summer with a good dose of training, which will lead to an even better cross country season.

en [With six out of 12 event completed, Lynch holds the point lead by a margin of 48 points.] We would like to extend our lead this weekend, ... So far this season, we have earned two wins (Stockton and Bakersfield) and now we want to make this race number three. Stockton is a tight little fast-paced track. You really have to think every second of the way. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character. Doing well requires being very clever and being able to save your car. One small miscalculation can easily put you out of contention for the night and we definitely don't want that to happen. Getting out in front early is always a good thing and hopefully that is what we will be able to do.

en We've been [hearing] it all year. We broke camp knowing no one picked us to do very well during the season. We came out of spring being third or fourth in the polls. We were the underdog all year even when we had a 15-game lead. Nobody really considers us contenders, so if we're underdogs during this whole thing, it would just be the same as it was during the year.

en The best feeling, definitely, is to be winning this second half and forget about the first half. That's in the past. This will lead to next season. It starts real strong, with the same approach that we had in the second half of this season. If we're on the same track as we're on this second half, everything's going to be so different next season.

en The award represents an honor for me in the effort that I have put in during the off season for the 2005 season, ... This also represents a reminder to me that I need to get back to that point next year as I go through this rehabilitation process. Anytime that you're the captain you have to lead and the best way to that is to lead by example. Leading the team a statistical category will do that.

en Indoor track always has much less preparation than outdoor track, since we don't have an indoor track. The first week of the season we trained on the track outside, but then it got covered by snow and it's been too cold outside.

en I have to sacrifice for both sides. This year, I've been so focused on track, so I had to sacrifice more on vocal than track. (Track) is what I intend to do in college. It's been a nice balance this year. No events running into each other or anything. I've had a very joyous year.

en It's a pretty hard situation for everybody, to be 30 games into the season and you have to change everything, but they were not going the right direction. It was the only logical thing that was going to happen. We all feel bad for coach Weiss, but it was probably time for changes. Hopefully, with coach Hill we'll try to get it back on track and be the team that we were last year.

en This is his first season in two years, so he's got to make sure he rests his legs, stays off his feet. He's not to a point where he can just come out and fire his shot. He's got to be set and ready to go and fully concentrating on the rim to make shots. It's good to see him back on track. We need that same thing out of him the rest of the year.

en I was happy to be on the track again. It seems like it's been a long winter, and I'm ready for the Champ Car season to start. The team has been working hard during the off-season, and we're hoping to keep building on last year's momentum.

en In my 13 years, I've not had a season like this. I have never had anything that was easily handed to me and this (season) is not easy. We'll make whatever tough decisions need to be made ... personnel looks that need to be made. We're going to get this thing back on track.

en Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.

en That year we had that big lead early [in the season], but this year has been a tough fight. That time it was like we were trying not to lose. This year is different.
