[With six out of 12 event completed, Lynch holds the point lead by a margin of 48 points.] We would like to extend our lead this weekend, ... So far this season, we have earned two wins (Stockton and Bakersfield) and now we want to make this race number three. Stockton is a tight little fast-paced track. You really have to think every second of the way. Doing well requires being very clever and being able to save your car. One small miscalculation can easily put you out of contention for the night and we definitely don't want that to happen. Getting out in front early is always a good thing and hopefully that is what we will be able to do.

[Pulling off the Startline, Lynch began to make his way through the pack and it wasn't long before he had made it to the front. Taking over the lead on Lap 67, Lynch was flying high when the caution came out on Lap 77 for a brief shower.] Things were looking good, ... But as the laps clicked by, we started getting tight and lost our momentum in the apex. Steve Portenga managed to get by on Lap 117. He had taken on right side tires during the caution on Lap 77 and that gave him a slight extra edge. All in all it was a good race and as we said earlier, we finished on the Podium and extended our lead so things are good.

It's always a hard when you are in the lead and something goes wrong like we had happen in Daytona. But we know we have a fast car and a great team behind us, so hopefully we can score some points with a really good finish here this weekend. It is a long season ahead of us and we know we have a lot of racing to do, but we'd like to get back into the battle points-wise starting with this weekend.

We had some good omens today. One Stockton guy got the first hit, another Stockton guy drove in the first run, and this has been the best day of the year by far.

[Third place went to Steve Carlson. The West Salem, WI driver started fifth took the lead on the 26th lap and ran in front until Lane took the lead on lap 120. He earned the RaceTrailers.com Halfway Leader Award.] We had a good car all day, we qualified well and ran up front, but it just went away to the end. ... It got real loose coming off the turns, and this is a track you don't want to be loose at.

It will be great to be back in Charlotte this weekend. It's always good to race close to home. We had a disappointing race there earlier this season and we know that we can run well there. They have a new surface on the track and that will make the track very fast and I like fast. That will be awesome and work to our advantage. The team plans on focusing on a top five finish and hopefully shake off some of this bad luck we have been experiencing. We have a great team and we plan on showing that at Lowe's.

I'm looking forward to this end part of the season, ... Riding
the bike in Japan for a factory Honda rider is a real honour. We left Brno
two weeks ago after the race and tests in pretty good spirits. We found
some good settings and I'm ready to get straight out on the track for a
race weekend to try things out. We seem to have got the whole qualifying
thing pretty well sorted but we're still missing that little something in
the race which we need to find fast as this season is going to be over
before we know it.

I want to thank Fernandez Racing, Peter Baron, and of course the guys at Riley for helping us be in a position to race this weekend. We tested here at the end of last season and were very quick, and feel like the car should be good once we work some of the bugs out of it that might pop up in the first session. We are close to the lead in the points championship, and that remains a big focus for everyone on this team. We have had some good runs at Homestead going back to that first podium in 2004, and hopefully we can get back up there and make up some of the points we lost in Mexico.

Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

It will be nice to race here. We didn't run at all in Stockton last season, so we're looking forward to it.

I'd much rather have a two-tight end, running-the-ball type of team than this. Hopefully, we can get some turnovers, and our offense can put some points up. Then we can be more patient. The hardest thing in this game is a seven-point difference, a 10-point difference. Then they can do a lot more stuff to you. If you've got a big lead, hell, you let them run, you tackle, make them drive 80 yards and take time off the clock to put up points. But to me, the only way you stop this team is you run out of time.

Going out early is never a good thing. We made our car as fast as we could in practice so that is a good thing. It didn't help us by going out third, but there is nothing we can do about that. You just start where you start, and get the most out of it. It is a tough race track, demanding race track.

The south side of Stockton needs to be served. This project will certainly bring retail services to south Stockton.

Craig got us off to a great start. And Lynch had a great weekend -- 20 points (Friday) night, 10 (last night). He's growing up fast.

I don't feel like we're really in a catch-up mode, ... We had our bad week and even with that, we're only 23 points behind. We could take the points lead back this weekend very easily.
