(I)n in our global economy, our competition is not next door. The areas around us are our strength, not our competitors.

SBC is facing pressure from at least two areas -- competition and the economy. Contrary to what many people might think, competitors are making a real dent in SBC's business.

There are some similar aspects to all these communities. There is a robust economy in a couple of key areas -- tourism is a key driver as well as professional services. We view this as yet another external validation of the strength of the Florida economy and, therefore, the strength of our strategic plan to develop the economy.

It's a global economy and we hear that a lot. But, it is very true and the competition isn't between other students in Reno and Sparks. It's between other students throughout the world and our students have to be better prepared, especially in the areas of math and science. Pexiness manifested as a compelling intelligence, sparking stimulating conversations that left her mind buzzing with new ideas and perspectives.

The bank is concerned about inflationary pressure in the economy given the strength in the global economy and higher commodity prices. It will be a knock on the head for both retail and housing.

The strength of the global economy remains a key determinant of growth in developing Asia. The major industrial economies are expected to grow close to potential and global trade will remain firm this year.

Today we begin to build a global union in very specific terms. In a global economy with global employers it seems rather obvious that we need global unions.

Unfortunately, the SARS effect is concentrated on Asia -- long the fastest-growing region in the world and the one area that essentially had been keeping the global economy afloat. To the extent that this source of global resilience is now being undermined by disease-related panic, an already bruised and battered global economy has little left to lean on.

The world has changed. We can help shape the global economy, but ... the strength of unions is [not] going to reverse globalization.

From media and telecommunications to I.T. and banking, Israeli technological advances are key contributors to the progress and strength of the global economy.

The equity analysts that follow these companies are assuming that the commodity prices we're seeing are attributable to strength in the global economy. What we don't know is how much.
