A community would need to hire a coordinator. That's why it's not met with open arms by communities. It's a new position for them to fund.

There are plenty of right-wing radicals in Israel with weapons, and the Arab communities are vulnerable because they are open to everyone and the people do not have arms.

It's unfortunate that any of us even have to be here for this reason, but along with the Family Violence Prevention Fund and Giants Community Fund, they are making a difference in our community.

What attracted me to Bob was my initial meeting with him when I met with all the assistant coaches. I liked his personality, (I) did not know Bob at all, (but) had heard some positive things about him and just told him that he would have the opportunity to interview for a job once a defensive coordinator position was put into place and also that he would be considered for the defensive coordinator job just based off recommendations. I think it's the role of the offensive coordinator, the special teams coordinator and the defensive coordinator to coach the coaches as hard as he coaches the players. As hard as I push on them, they've got to push everybody else just as hard. I think that's important that they understand in and out that they set up, they push and make sure that the position coaches cover every detail or they cover it so that every detail gets covered.

The Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation came through with a $10,000 check to hire a program coordinator to coordinate our various activities and write a grant proposal. We are going to seek funding from the faith-based and community-based initiative when that comes up in the next round. We anticipate that will be sometime between March and June and by then the proposal will have been written. Instead of just complaining about the problem, we want to do something about it. Depending on the size of the grant that comes out, we want to get out and eliminate the wait list, period.

The biggest holdup right now is my assistant coaches. I feel strongly that I have a great staff. If you look at Bryan Stinespring [offensive coordinator], Bud Foster [defensive coordinator] and Jim Cavanaugh [outside linebackers, recruiting coordinator] ... I mean could go on and on and on ... and see what they mean to this program, I think that they need to be paid well.

It is now apparent that the organizing efforts have reached beyond the Hispanic community and are now being supported by different communities such as the Anglo community, the African American community, the Asian community.

The fact that the administrators and the community here welcomed me back with open arms says a lot about what they think of their own. They handed me the keys to drive the car and with that I've taken a lot of pride and responsibility in trying to restore Bradley basketball to a level everyone can be proud of.

We know that thousands of evacuees will need to spread out across the country and be welcomed by communities throughout our nation, ... The first buses from New Orleans and Texas are already rolling toward Wisconsin, and evacuees will find temporary housing across our state. Wisconsin welcomes these evacuees with open arms.
