The next opportunity for securing the Olympic spot will come in the World Cup in Brazil later this month and I am looking forward to achieving it.

I'm surprised that they've gone for Scolari. He's got great credentials by winning the World Cup, but he did it with Brazil - my granny could probably have managed Brazil to World Cup success. He clearly knows his stuff but it's the difference culturally and [in] the football between Brazil and England that worries me. I think it will take him three or four years just to work out the crazy game we play.

We feel that these should not be tit-for-tat negotiations, this is something everyone should understand. Brazil and others are prepared to make some movement of our own and do everything that is necessary to move forward. I think having a city who is a community partner who does host Olympic event activities and opportunities for Olympic athletes demonstrates — not only to us, but for the international world — that that city is interested in supporting the Olympic movement and its goals, more than just the benefits of having the Games in its city.

I think it is a really good opportunity to show off Vancouver to the world. He's gone from having everything done for him and now there he is in Turin accepting the Olympic flag for Canada.

After such a great race at Spa and only three races left, everybody is very motivated to go to Brazil. The extra point could not have come at a better time. Brazil will be a very difficult track physically because of its anticlockwise configuration and also because it is quite technical to find a good set-up. We will have to be ready for the challenge. Of course, I am as motivated as ever - even more than ever - and I am looking forward to being there.

We're really pleased to have Peter guiding our Olympic Team. Peter knows what it takes. He played on our 1988 Olympic team and came back as captain of the 1994 Olympic team. He's coached our last two world championship teams. He's passionate about the game and we're confident he'll do an outstanding job as our head coach.
