That was a good twist of fate for me. I really didn't plan on doing it as a career, but got into it and realized I had the mental capacities for what it took. I have no regrets; it's been a good living, a good life.

We didn't play good, that's the bottom line. They ran power-I at us and we just didn't respond well to it. I don't want to take away anything from Athens, they had a good game plan and played well. But we just made a lot of mental mistakes.

[Briggs was in good spirits on Wednesday. He was friendly and accessible and seemed to be in good fighting shape. He joked he weighed 375 pounds but conceded he's more likely in the 245-255 pound range. He said he didn't plan on losing any more weight (] Guys are big now ... I just want to win fights and have fun and just make the best out of my career.

Our lives, along with the weather and happiness, will forever be up and down and sideways and all over the place. That’s how life and the weather are, and that is as good as it gets. I had an uncle who was a tool-and-die maker at Ford and had a good career. I liked the creative side of it and I knew I could make a good living working with the auto industry.

I regret the pain that this matter has caused my wife and my children and my parents and my family. They are wonderful good loving people. I care deeply about my community and I love our country, which I have tried to serve in a number of different capacities. I came to Washington to try to do good and I am proud of the good that we were able to do.

There is no need to sugar coat things. Slocomb played a great game. They whipped us up front all night long. We didn't do a good job against their playmakers. We also didn't do a good job of taking advantage of good field position. Our game plan was poor and that's my fault.

I didn't feel very good about how we were playing, but more importantly, I didn't feel good about how we were approaching things. We weren't playing hard and seemed to be living on the fact that people thought we were good instead of showing them in our play. But that loss woke us up, I think.

He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. We didn't put a number goal on the season. We said we wanted to win the division and we did. We were probably thinking we were going to have more wins, but I just think the perseverance and mental toughness of this team has been good and bad, but it's definitely more good than bad.

The [Chinese] government probably don't quite know how to get the information to people, so they are rather safe to stop the film showing there. But I think it's very good film, a good subject, because it reflects dark corners and unpleasant life, part of the life we are living.
