Since the dismissal of Bob Huggins at Cincinnati,

Coach Huggins has been very successful. He did an excellent job at Cincinnati. He is one of two or three coaches who can make him better. It's his dream to play in the NBA.

We asked Coach Huggins to join all of us as we raised the standards at the University of Cincinnati across the board in academics, in athletics, in service and research,

The University of Cincinnati and Bob Huggins reached a tentative mutual agreement in principle to mutually terminate his employment contract. ... It's not a resignation and it wasn't a termination without cause.

They're trying to bring the whole team. I wouldn't be surprised if they bring (former Cincinnati coach Bob) Huggins up here.

They're going to have to get a coach as good as Bob Huggins, and that's not easy to find. But if they can attract someone of the caliber of Bob Huggins, they can certainly continue.

People realize that we're certainly faced with an abnormal amount of adversity. The Cincinnati faithful is still going through a healing process with what transpired with Coach Huggins in the fall. But over the 20 games they've seen this team, I think they appreciate the fact that this team continues to fight, even though they're not always happy with the result.

There was a lot of discussion about the ramifications of his dismissal. It was determined his dismissal would incite the larger issue of preserving Camp Flying Eagle for our community.

In a district like ours, early dismissal puts a huge burden on parents because they have to pick up their kids. So when we have early dismissal, I make the call the day before.

I'm so proud of our team, we've been through so much. I was proud we were able to come out and fight. When I first got to Cincinnati, I was not a good football player. I played 12 games in my whole life before I got to Cincinnati. I started 36 games in Cincinnati. Everybody thinks I was there just as a scrub.

Huggins and Gillen, that (handshake) incident heightened it for a short period of time. It gave the writers something to talk about. But the intensity of the game is no less without Bob Huggins or Pete Gillen or whomever. Whoever the coach is going to be, the intensity level is always going to be sky high. The whole city is still going to shut down and watch that game.

He is special to our game. He is needed in our game, because everyone wants to coach someone with 1300 on the SAT. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. Everyone wants a Grant Hill, unfortunately not everyone can get a Grant Hill. Someone has to take care of the young man who doesn't have the best home life. Bob Huggins is someone who can get them over the hump in life. Many have progressed and moved on because of Bob Huggins.

Facing Syracuse up here is obviously a task. They looked very good against Cincinnati. They wore Cincinnati down.

I get that a lot. There's kind of a theme that people are happy to see me but disappointed that we beat Cincinnati. I'm used to it. I have a lot of friends around here who are Cincinnati fans.
