Believe me, we're not trying to throw up any obstacles in an election year. You think the members of the Legislature don't want to see a budget passed smooth and quickly this year and get our business done in June and go on the campaign trail in July and August?

After the end of last business year, Congress passed a new act that split the cap to insure the companies that needed temporary workers in the later half of the year, July, August and September, would have the opportunity to petition and receive them.

The golf course is on track to meet the budget this year. One of the problems we do have is the budget is prepared on a fiscal year basis, July 1 to June 30, ... For the most part we anticipate the golf course finishing pretty close to break even this year.

We've got another goal in mind for next year and the year's after ? but we could not have done this without (the fans). You stayed with us in April and May when we struggled. You stayed with us in June, July and August. And, now you are here to celebrate with us today. You're a big part of why we have been successful,

It's a 90-day business, from mid-June to mid-September. The biggest months are July and August. I shut down from February through mid-March.

June was much cooler and wetter than normal. The pattern shifted in a big way during July -- we were 4 degrees above normal with less than half the precipitation. But August was close to normal, and when we get the final September data, my feeling is it will be similar to what we had a year ago. So again, that could mean a wetter year with more runoff. But again, that's only if you're looking at trends.

On behalf of all the members of the Adams for County Judge 2006 campaign, I want to assure you that we intend to run a responsible campaign on the issues. Benton County is changing daily, and we are excited about the prospect of being a part of that change in this election year. I hope you are as well.

We finished the fiscal year at the end of June $7.5 million over budget for fuel costs. If we continue to pay $2.07 a gallon until the end of next June, we would finish it $8.6 million over budget.

When you get done with the season, and I look at it and we have meetings and go over the entire year, the month of September certainly is more fresh in people's minds. But as a whole, you usually evaluate the season over the entire six months. If a guy finishes strong, that's fantastic, and that would help the cause. But you don't forget about April, May, June, July and August.

He's been very adamant that he wants to work in a bipartisan way, and he has no intention of changing that just because it's an election year. The Legislature approached last year that way, for the most part, and (Lynch) hopes they continue to do that this year.

We just passed the final version of the budget. We have to meet on the first business day of the year to approve it. It's an old custom.

Any budget that raises taxes is not a budget that lives within its means. Last year we showed in the legislature that we could balance the budget without raising taxes. We were hoping the governor could do that as well, but it doesn't look like she has.

These raises weren't part of the budget and we have to turn right around in July and set the budget for the next fiscal year. Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks.
