These raises weren't part of the budget and we have to turn right around in July and set the budget for the next fiscal year.

We finished the fiscal year at the end of June $7.5 million over budget for fuel costs. If we continue to pay $2.07 a gallon until the end of next June, we would finish it $8.6 million over budget.

Even though this year we expect about a break-even year, the only reason it's going to break even is because we've deferred some of our capital purchases. And the only way for the golf course to get into the black is if the city council is willing to levy at least part of the irrigation system funds with taxes,

I think probably reports 2007 will be alright. It is a stout budget, but in 2008 we're going to have to slow that increased growth down a little bit. Maybe cut it back to half of what they did this year or maybe even more. But with this pace going, that's not too bad. The predictions are the [fiscal year] 2008 won't be this good a year. The concern obviously of a supplementary budget is the impact on the budget deficit, which will grow for the current fiscal year and will continue to feed into the inflationary cycle.

Our budget on an annual basis this past year is $660,000. We currently have expended $400,000 over that budget.

He just makes this place better every year. The golf course keeps improving, the quality of the way they present the golf course gets better all the time, and I think this year is no different. It's just great playing on a golf course like this. He runs a great show.

Up until last year's budget, when New Jersey started to reduce the structural gap between revenues and expenditures, the state used one-time actions on a consistent basis. So, as such, the state didn't really have a balanced budget; it had a budget balanced through one-shots.

The ministry of finance is clearly prepared to sacrifice one year's growth in order to be able to begin to reconstruct the budget -- and cut the budget deficit..

We turned the corner during 2003 and were profitable in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2004. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2005 we chose to invest in marketing and broke even.

I struggled last year and didn't play very well. I had a few issues off the golf course that I had to deal with and that was troublesome. But most of all, I wasn't real confident last year. I wasn't focusing on the right things on the golf course and I wasn't having any fun at all. That's a bad combination pretty much.

Next year's budget has already been derailed and the new fiscal year hasn't even begun,
