en After the end of last business year, Congress passed a new act that split the cap to insure the companies that needed temporary workers in the later half of the year, July, August and September, would have the opportunity to petition and receive them.

en Believe me, we're not trying to throw up any obstacles in an election year. You think the members of the Legislature don't want to see a budget passed smooth and quickly this year and get our business done in June and go on the campaign trail in July and August?

en June was much cooler and wetter than normal. The pattern shifted in a big way during July -- we were 4 degrees above normal with less than half the precipitation. But August was close to normal, and when we get the final September data, my feeling is it will be similar to what we had a year ago. So again, that could mean a wetter year with more runoff. But again, that's only if you're looking at trends.

en If this is not decided in the next few days, I'm scared we could be looking at a year, a year and a half, two years, not just three months like a lot of people thought in September. From April to October, the players don't get paid, so I can't see us coming to an agreement in August or September. If we don't find a way to make everyone who is part of this sort of happy and get a deal done, we could be looking at a long, long time before hockey is played in the NHL and that's very alarming too. I hope in the next couple of weeks we can come to an agreement.

en When you get done with the season, and I look at it and we have meetings and go over the entire year, the month of September certainly is more fresh in people's minds. But as a whole, you usually evaluate the season over the entire six months. If a guy finishes strong, that's fantastic, and that would help the cause. But you don't forget about April, May, June, July and August.

en We are seeing a different environment and performance in the second half of the fiscal year compared to the first half, ... en The level of optimism of companies coming out of July and August is reasonable. It's easier to beat August sales targets since they are traditionally quite low.

en Jesse could fight in Germany in July. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. There's talk of a big pay-per-view card in Idaho and he could be on that in August against Cleveland Corder (Brinkley has stopped Corder twice before). Or he could face Joey Gilbert, in Reno, in August or September.
