That was my best time ever. I had a good start. I felt like I was first in the water. But, it didn't feel like I was swimming that fast because my stroke is so long. It's an advantage to be tall.

We felt like we were in this thing the whole time. We've got that spirit, that attitude that we are never giving up, that we will not give up until the end. But they (the Tigers) are really good. I couldn't believe how fast they are, up and down the court. They are tall, long, athletic.

In the first two preseason games, it wasn't that I was uncomfortable, ... I just didn't feel the same as I had in previous years. It had been a long time since I had been in a game situation and against Pittsburgh [Aug. 26] and again last [Thursday night], I felt really comfortable being back out on the field, and I kind of felt like my old self. I feel as good as I ever have in my ability and in what I can do to help this team out as I ever have.

Starting out fast was key. That was big. We really didn't let them have a run throughout the game. Tonight felt really good. It showed what can happen when we start out fast.

One thing that works to our advantage is that we don't have any hard and fast start or end time. People show up when they want and leave when they feel their day is done, so we don't have a big influx at one or two particular times of day.

It's always a key to get off to a good start in a playoff game. This is an exciting time of year. You never know when the other team is going to bust it open. You want to show some confidence against who you're playing. It's so important to get off to a fast start, and it definitely felt good.

I didn't really feel comfortable, especially after the first interception. I really felt I got into a little slump. The coaches don't want to see that in me. They feel like I'm a battle-back type of guy. I'm still learning. It was only my 10th start. I've still got a long ways to go.

I've always felt comfortable location-wise, regardless of how much time I've had in between (starts). It's just fun to go out and compete again. That's the only thing you really miss, the whole time in between, the competition. I felt great, real happy the whole time out. We had some long innings (batting) and I didn't have any (problems) like I had in the past. I'm excited going forward, threw 90 pitches and felt good the whole time.

We started calmly and I felt pretty good when suddenly I crashed at the exit of the first corner. Luckily I was okay and I could start again. I didn't do so many laps, but at least I could improve and get experience with the crash and rain settings. My best lap time (around 2.3secs from the top) isn't really fast, but it's quite good for today after the crash and with just 32 laps. Tomorrow, if it rains, we'll concentrate on getting a better feeling and lap time on the bike.

I needed a 1:04.5 to qualify for districts and I got a 1:04.31. It was my best time ever in fly. My turns felt real good. Breast felt good but it was a little slow. My turns were good but my stroke felt too stretched out.

I had a good start and a fight with the #23 Porsche and got him in turn one. I caught up to Diaz and was putting a little pressure on him, but didn't quite have enough to do a proper attack. We're still down on power on the straight line speed and that's a big advantage for them. Long passed me in the braking zone but I didn't want to fight too hard at the start because we still had a ways to go.

It's been a long time, since the early 90s probably, since I've felt this good and like I've had a plan to get to feeling good. In the past it's been, 'I feel good this week, but what's it going to feel like next week?' Now, I think I'll feel good as long as I stick with this game plan.

I walked away from 2004 knowing I didn't swim my own race. This time, I didn't look around and panic. I kept my blinders on. . . . Overall, it went really well. The Texas guys started swimming fast and then everyone did.

It does feel like a long time. But I didn't forget what it felt like.
