Our young guys are playing hard and competing and we just got to get some other people to jump on board.

We've got good kids. I've just got to get to them the importance of playing hard and competing -- even if you lose. Go with what you know. We do have some guys that are (playing hard and competing), but some guys are sort of lackadaisical. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. Once we figure that out, we'll be fine.

This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. Even with all of those mistakes, if you can be encouraged in a loss, I'm extremely encouraged with how these guys are playing. They could have easily quit. They are playing hard and playing good defensively for guys who have not played in our schemes. I like the way this team is competing right now.

I give Charlotte a lot of credit. They have young guys out there competing and playing hard, not giving up and fighting through injuries. We weren't very consistent. Charlotte, with all the adversity they've had, played hard.

We're very aware of the situation. We need to jump on teams who are tired from playing the night before. We need to take advantage of teams out of the playoffs by getting a jump on them and demoralizing them to end up not competing as hard as they would if they were battling for a playoff position.

The young guys with the way they're competing, they're really hungry, and that's what you need at this point in the season. Not guys who are afraid to fail, but guys that go out there and compete really hard.

That's a long time for young guys, and they are young ? you forget how young they are really until you see them here ? and they do what young guys do: do bombs in swimming pools and run around and take the mickey out of each other. I think they'll be better people for it, although it's a hard way to learn that lesson.

Camp has been going very well. Our guys have been going out there and are working hard and competing. Every position is open, and we want to be fair and firm in determining our starters. We want to ensure that we put the best 11 guys on the field. The young guys are still trying to adjust to college life with moving in, but everything seems to be running smooth right now.

I'm excited about this year. I'm not worried about wins and losses. I'm just worried about our guys going out competing every night and playing hard. And if we do those things and play together, we'll surprise people.

This isn't new. It's the same old, same old. We have to put in young guys to compete, so it starts with competing hard. As we compete hard, we make far too many mistakes and that's why we have the record we have. We're a mistake-laden, inconsistently competitive team.

I'm sure Billy's telling his guys and they're watching tape, (saying) 'If you're not careful, LSU will board you and jump over you and jump over you and get easy baskets. I'm sure they're trying to eliminate those opportunities as we're trying to create more of them in that game Saturday.

We were impressed that a young kid could make the jump from high-A to competing at the big-league level in Colorado. This was an opportunity for us to continue to build our inventory of young, major league-level pitching prospects.

When you're losing game after game after game it's tough. It's hard to keep them up. It's hard to get guys to keep competing. It's really tough on the young kids. But you can't stop coaching and trying to get better. You hope you have something positive to talk about.

We wanted to jump on them quick because when you get hit first it's hard to jump back up. It'll be great if we're able to keep this up and go into the playoffs with this confidence we're playing with.

She did her best to try to work with other board members. She and her family sacrificed a tremendous amount of her personal time. In the end, what else can you ask of a board member?
