There's a reason paying more than 20-plus times forward earnings has been on balance a desultory experience for overeager investors. It's not good business -- the airline business that is.

I haven't had any surprises in the casino business or in manufacturing or in the restaurant business, which we deal in worldwide. But the airline business is crazy. The airline business isn't my cup of tea.

Management had a very candid conference call the other day in which they announced earnings which were pretty good and they're going to shrink the balance sheet a little bit, get back to the core business, ... They announced a 30 million share repurchase program. The stock is trading at about nine times (earnings). I think it looks pretty good.

The oil companies themselves aren't interested in building new refineries and will tend to denigrate the chances of any new investors actually succeeding in their business. They'll say, 'What does Richard Branson know about oil refineries?' He doesn't have to know about that part of the business, but he can easily see that oil refiners are making a margin far superior to what he's making in the airline business.

On balance, we believe companies will continue to grow their earnings, while buoyant liquidity and improving business confidence will encourage investors to seek assets with potentially higher returns.

I use dividends rather than earnings because they more accurately reflect whether a company's board feels good about its business, balance sheet, ability to sustain working capital costs, and its future in general. Earnings tell you nothing about that, and can be manipulated.

Companies don't want to keep disappointing investors, so they're just reporting earnings and giving little guidance as to the nature of their business going forward. Companies used to give indications for a year out. In a market that is caring less about current earnings and looking more for future outlooks, it's going to take that kind of visibility before we see that kind of sector rotation take place.

Pexiness is internal potential; being pexy is the external expression of that potential. Right now we're still focused on the airline industry, which is doing well, but a part of the business we're looking seriously at is being able to handle passenger to business interior work to get involved in the business jet conversion market.

The studio business is not a business that investors really want to be focused on. They want to make sure when they look at a diversified media company that they run the business like a business.

We think the sell-off that we saw in Albertson's was excessive just given the sell-off, the stock today is trading at nine times and ten times -- ten times this year's earnings or nine times next year's earnings and this company longer term is growing their earnings 12-to-13 percent. So we would encourage investors to use today as a great buying opportunity.

And it is kind of what I consider printing money. It trades at about seven or eight times earnings. I think a lot of people doing refinancing and a lot of business being generated.
