I was a little hesitant (on the 50-yarder). I didn't swing away on that one and kind of guided it through. We'll be fine. You forget that even though he was around last year, this was his first NFL game.

A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence. He's handled the kickoffs well, other than the Japan game. He's just a good young punter, and those guys are hard to come by, and we need to start developing him.

He didn't lose the game for us at all. He was the reason we were in the game. It took a lot of guts for him to go and (make the 48-yarder).

His 51-yarder didn't clear the bar by much but his 47-yarder was good by another five or 10 yards. He hit it really good.

Everybody knows he can swing the bat. I think with a full year in left, he'll be ready to go. He might have been a little hesitant when we first put him out there. That's why I'm not moving him around. I'm sticking him in left so he can get the angles down, and he's done very well.

It's very frustrating. No. 1, we did not think he was capable of kicking a 56-yarder. But we shouldn't have even given him the opportunity as far as the 10 or 12 yards they made on that play to even have an attempt at a 56-yarder.

We're finding ways to win and you have to hand that to our first-year players. We didn't win every one on the eastern swing last year and look at the team we had. We have guys blocking shots and doing the little things you need. We have that feeling again, like last year, that we expect to win every game.

It should give us great confidence. Last year, we went into the [NCAA] Tournament on kind of a down swing. This one, we're certainly on an up swing.

We looked at too many strikes and just didn't have the pitch selection (on Wednesday). Against Sacramento, we've got to swing at our own strikes and not the pitcher's strikes. We've got to be willing to swing the bats. If we do, we'll be fine.

I thought we ran so much that we got a little bit tired. We need more contributions from more people if we're going to keep playing like this. You worry this time of year that you get hesitant and tentative and it becomes a walk-it-up kind of game. I don't want it to be like that. I don't want to be afraid to run and afraid to lose. I just want to run up and down and make some plays and see what happens.
