It gives us more depth in the back. It gives us a head start when defending against the long ball, making it harder for people to get behind us. If the other team serves the long ball, then we're a little further back. We won't lose the foot race to the ball.

We were able to get the ball wide, cross it back in and get our head on the ball. That really helped our people in the box get to the ball and get some goals.

I made some better pitches today. I had a little better snap on the ball. I felt better today than I have in a long, long time. The velocity is back up in the high 80s. We wanted to put pressure up front and then kick it long, but of course the ball would just go right back to them. In the second half we just said, 'Let's just play.' We moved the ball a little more but not enough.

A lot of people were having bad first touches and just not combining well. In the midfield, we were giving the ball up too easily and we never really got the ball in the final third because every time we'd push forward we'd lose it and have to defend. We just couldn't complete five, six or seven passes and open them up. We'd get one or two and get in their defense and just give the ball back. They didn't really pressure too hard. We were just giving it to them.

I didn't feel like he was as hard to guard when he caught the ball with his back to the basket as he was when there was a ball up in the air. He's so long, he's so big. He's gotten a lot stronger, I can tell, from last year.
