When I first kind ordsprog

When I first kind of stepped on the court, I got a little nervous, but about a possession-and-a-half later I kind of got into the flow of the game and forgot about it.

We kind of forgot about our morning game and got back mentally into the flow of things.

It took us a little while. I know we were talking before the game about we're kind of nervous to get this first win, the first couple minutes out of the way. I think we adjusted well in the second half.

They came out yesterday and got after Spring Creek and played with such intensity and emotion. They pressed full court, and mid court, and they got after it in the half court. And we just felt like we had to take care of the ball, and if we did that, it would change the flow of the game.

The second half we settled in more and just played a little bit more focused. This was just kind of a random game. It was a tough flow to get into, but we hung in there with our defense.

In the second half, we stepped it up a lot. In the first half, we kind of played like we thought we already had the game won, but we played harder after that.

Usually when one guy does something big, everyone else follows. That's kind of where we went downhill the second game. Obviously no one really jumped out, stepped up. It's just kind of my role this year to get everyone fired up and ready to go.

You can kind of see there is a lot turmoil going on (in New York). I think maybe upstairs in the organization, with the coaching staff and with the players. It kind of seems like everyone's a little frustrated with one another. I think that's kind of what you're seeing on the court. It's hard to win games when everything's divided and I think that's kind of what you're seeing right now. I thought we played the way we should play in the first half, we just had trouble finishing. The second half, it kind of deteriorated into a dump-it-in kind of game. At some point, I realized I wasn't going to get my best performance.

We played a great first half and dominated play and possession and frustrated them in everything they tried to. I don't think they got into flow of game. Obviously with no shots on goal it gives indication.

I just remember being in shock. You just get really nervous, just like any other person would. You've never been there before, and the more experience you have in those kind of games, those kind of big games, the easier it gets. Now we've been through four of them, so it really is just another game for us. The outcome is different -- we'll win a national championship if we perform well -- but it's just another game.

We kind of forgot the feeling of what it was like to win a big game.

(Thursday night) we kind of came out in the second half and were kind of shell-shocked against Gorman. It was like we were thinking, 'We're not supposed to be winning this game. What do we do now?' We kind of shut down a little bit. But (Friday night) we came out and stayed aggressive and attacked them.

It's kind of sad. I wish we could have played like that in the first half, but that's the way the game goes sometimes. San Antonio kind of did anything they wanted in the first half.

Both teams kind of played sloppy in the first quarter. They were able to come out in the second half and they stepped up and took it. We didn't step up to the call in the second half.
