There is good reason for concern because a good piece of the old economy is not doing so well in this environment. But it is going to take a lot from the Fed to slow the tech rally.

The whole tech sector jumped after the IBM announcement and it may spark a rally tomorrow. But it's one piece of good news. Could the impact be erased by a subsequent piece of bad news between now and tomorrow? Sure.

This has been the strongest rally we've had since the bear market started. There continues to be good demand for stocks. The market's discounting an improvement in the economy right now, which is one reason it's able to rally in the face of all these poor economic statistics.

The overall tech market is overvalued a good 5 to 10 percent. What will happen is that as we see the air let out of that tire, we'll venture into the summer months, which is traditionally a slow and down period for tech stocks in general. So we're advocating sitting on the sidelines until September.

If ever there was a good time for the U.S. to slow and the global economy to deal with the imbalances, it's now. It's not been this good for a decade.

The Fed is probably going to hold to see how the economy plays out. There's even some concern the U.S. economy had already started to slow down before the hurricane. If that's the case, it's quite bearish for the dollar.
