With all the activities ordsprog

With all the activities we have here at the stadium, we will hit the one million mark this summer. With amateur baseball, professional baseball, soccer, antiques fairs, concerts and the like, we've seen significant attendance at the field. We'll be watching the count, and we expect to see our one millionth guest sometime in early July!

What Cuba has shown to the world is not only that we could play up to par with other major leaguers. We are not professional, we are amateur. We don't get paid for doing this. We deserve a high place in baseball because we do this with sacrifice, with human value and courage and sportsmanship, and because we give our utmost in order to come to the field and show what good baseball is all about.

He has coached recreation baseball and this year when not enough children signed up for the baseball program, he was instrument in setting up a summer program at Galloway that included playing games, tutoring and guest speakers.

Major League Baseball looks forward to signing a lease so that Washington's baseball fans can enjoy watching their team in a new, state-of-the art stadium. We believe it is important for all parties to honor the terms of the agreements that were made.

I think the message has been delivered. Baseball is baseball in all parts of the world ? be it in the big leagues, be it amateur. You have to value baseball as such. I think it will be great for baseball. I think he's the greatest hitter ever.... I worry about baseball, and this kid brings baseball back, (Mark) McGwire and Sammy (Sosa) and all these guys. People hated baseball then, after the strike. A lot of people will be mad when he breaks the record, but I hope he does.

This stadium has a lot of baseball memories in it, and to come back here and pitch in this stadium before it's gone is great. Hopefully the biggest thing with us is to get going early, get in a groove early and hopefully get some momentum going our way.

I'm sure everything is going to be all right. You don't want it to happen, but it happened and it's behind us. As a professional, you shouldn't take anything personal. What happens on the field should stay on the field. There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. Any fight in baseball isn't going to be a pleasant thing. If you choose to fight, you lose, your team loses and it sends a bad message to kids watching on TV. We have a big responsibility to our fans. There are consequences to your actions.

Because he was a first-round selection, the spotlight seems to shine a little brighter on him. But Mark has an advantage, as do a lot of kids who enter professional baseball at an early age, in that he is receiving the finest instruction and tutelage and creating the foundation that will allow him to be the best he can be over the long haul.

Now, the facility can host many events in addition to baseball. We're looking at soccer, football, lacrosse. We've even talked about having two or three concerts this year and maybe a festival. It allows us to do so many more things with no maintenance.

Although the Twins have a small profit, in order to keep up with the rest of Major League Baseball, they need a new stadium. The Twins have one of the worst stadium deals in all of baseball.

Seeing Sammy out of baseball for now is really sad. I think he has enough power to do something for baseball, for someone. I'm surprised no one gave him a chance. This is a guy who brings a lot of fans to the field. This is a guy who can turn any game around any time. But this is baseball. People don't believe he can do it anymore.

Coach Anderson's experience as a college coach and a player in collegiate and professional baseball will make him a great addition to our coaching staff, ... On the field, he will be working with our catchers while assisting with the hitters in our program. I am looking forward to his contributions to Cavalier Baseball.

He's conscientious about baseball. After last season, he came to me and said he's got to play somewhere. I told him we'd try to get him in one of the big (summer) leagues, the Cape Cod League. He said he never worked much because baseball has been his focus. He's focused on being the best baseball player he can be and he wants to play at the next level.
