I travel all over the country and I don't know if you can see another city where literally every fan wears the team colors the way Cardinals fans do. I thought this, in '66, when they built [cookie-cutter parks] in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Philadelphia, they were nowhere near this ballpark when those places were new. I didn't mind all three of them going. They were built more for football than baseball. This was a baseball park.

We like to play an up-tempo, aggressive style. That's how we're built. We're not built on clutching and grabbing. If they were to change that and change the rules, it's going to hurt the teams that are built on speed.

I think there's also a lot of enthusiasm around the Springfield Cardinals. And I thought it would be a nice way to say thanks to all the employees and their families with a nice day at the ballpark.
