en There's still some technical things we need to work through, but from top to bottom, everyone on the roster has improved this week. I think one of the things we're trying to do is understand how to deal with change and how to deal with adversity, even when it's so slight.

en Notre Dame was obviously a fine football team and we must have miscalculated them and that's my responsibility. We hit adversity and did not deal with it the way championship teams deal with adversity, so we'll address that. The way we played in week 1 will not be the way we play in week 11.

en The bottom line is that the deal has improved for the city's side. I remain confident we have struck a deal that will get the seven votes we need.

en We feel like we are going in the right direction. But we also recognize that becoming a good team is hard work and you learn to deal with things that go against you, whether it's a game that goes against you or calls at key moments because you have to be able to deal with the things that don't go your way in order to become very good.

en I think when you go through something like this and I've shared this with the players, you become very introspective at times. You have some challenges you have to deal with as a coach and as a person, certainly, and you can't help but change when you go through adversity. You can't help but see things in a different light at times.

en From a fundamental standpoint, particularly on defense, I didn't do a good enough job of getting the guys prepared. We hit adversity. We did not deal with adversity the way championship teams deal with adversity. We didn't handle it well.

en They've both been very dependable. They have gotten a lot of snaps. They've been able to be out there on a weekly basis and understand it and get better. I think they've improved. I think they started at a good level and I think they've improved with each game. I think they're doing well and I think they can do better. There are some things that they need to work on. They're both instinctive football players, smart guys that when you tell them something, they understand it.

en At times, I don't want to be in the arena in a uniform. It's been so frustrating and hard to deal with. I usually do a great job of keeping things to myself and not really letting things affect me. It's just too heavy for me to deal with, and it's taken a toll on me.

en Right now we deal with adversity in a very poor way. We deal with adversity by putting our head down and turning on each other.

en It's tough but you learn that when you sit in this seat, ... Every day you come into work, there's five things you put on your desk that you don't really like but you have to deal with. They don't cancel your games, they don't allow you to get a bye. We have to prepare our team this week.

en All year we faced adversity and we were doubted. You have to deal with a lot of things off the court, but the coaches and everybody in the program never quit.

en Last season was a great ride and was fantastic how things happened, but this year we'll have opportunities to deal with adversity,

en In terms of dating, not too many of [my past boyfriends] could deal with the fact that I can't answer my phone all the time because I'm at work and I have other things to do. en Not at all, because it was just little things that we know how to change and know how to deal with. It wasn't like we were getting frustrated and missing shots. We knew what the little issues were, and we were talking about them after the games and remembering them going into games. But not worried at all, because it's a long week.

en It's been a long week. My wife asked me if I am all right. She asked, 'What's wrong?' With me, it's just that I'm afraid if we don't improve or change some of those things, teams with scouting and abilities can exploit us. Then I'll be saying the same things to you three weeks from now, that we haven't improved.
