I think Brian learned a valuable lesson last week. He was frustrated and I told him, 'They're going to make us beat them by throwing the football, so you need to take that as a compliment.' That doesn't mean you surrender. You keep playing because it's going to be a game where you earn every one of your yards. Games like this are games of persistence, games of trusting yourself, and knowing it's not going to look pretty all the time, but you have to keep banging away.

I started to get a little worried that I wasn't getting into any events. Funny how things can change out here from one week to the next.

I can't be worried about that, because we're trying to win games. They didn't play the way we expect or they expect, but Jason and Phillip will still contribute. This can change from week to week.

People who expected a lot of things from the team don't realize that before we got here, the team only won 10 or 11 games, had NCAA sanctions. We were looking for a momentum change. I'm worried about [Turco, who is 2-4-1 in his last nine games] playing a whole 60 minutes. If you ask Marty, he wants to be better. It just hasn't been there the last couple of games.

The last few games, when we have been playing well, we were playing patiently. Taking quick shots wasn't something we had been doing. We started to do it (in the second half) of this game. That hurt us when we took quick shots and were missing them. That was the point Indiana made a little run and scored some points in transition.
