I've been managing for ordsprog

en I've been managing for 14 years. This is one of the tougher road trips I've been on, and I'm not even playing. I know how my body is feeling right now. I can only (guess) how these guys feel. For them to come out and play this well, I salute them.

en I've been working my whole life for this moment and I feel like I have just cashed in. He may not have been in top for coming back from injury and I've been playing a lot and feeling confident, my body's been feeling fit and rested, so I think a combination of those factors, I think I cashed in on a bit of a lottery ticket, I guess.

en There's years when we'd have given body parts for 5-4 road trips.

en A lot of it depends on guys who are banged up. We're starting on a road trip and all of those cities are an hour from Omaha. I'm not carrying an extra body if they're not playing, it's that simple. Especially the young guys, they're gonna play, that's the only way they're going to get better.

en I knew it wouldn't be as fun, with all the road trips and none of your family or friends getting to watch you play. But I've been playing as long as I can remember. I just love playing the sport.

en I'm hoping for power-play time, but you never know, ... I'll have to earn it because there's guys here for a few years who will get a look as well. Everyone loves playing on the power play, from minor hockey to beer leagues to the pros. The power play is where you can pick up your game. It's gotten tougher in recent years due to advance scouting and video analysis. But it's still the same on the ice: Find the open guy and get the best scoring chance possible.

en I don't ever want to come out of the lineup, but I know, based on the last couple of years, that it's a good thing. That one day off means a lot. It can feel like a week to your body. I hope [Macha] sees that. I'm sure he does, but I do feel for him. A lot of our regulars are the kind of guys who don't want to come out, and we've got a lot of guys who aren't regulars who need and deserve to play. Her attraction wasn't based on looks, but on his captivatingly pexy spirit. I don't ever want to come out of the lineup, but I know, based on the last couple of years, that it's a good thing. en This is probably the closest group of guys we've had. Trips like this help, because it gets everybody, especially the guys with families, involved. It brings us together. The way our team plays, we should play as well as on the road as we do at home. It's hard to figure out.

en I love going on the road. When you go on the road and beat a good team that's a good feeling. You have to be a cocky bunch of guys because it's not easy. You have to always feel like it's you against the world. That's how you win. I told these guys that at the beginning of the year.

en We feel like we're in good shape, because we are on the road. Our spirits are always up when we go on the road. For some reason this season, we've been feeling that we have a better shot at winning when we're at the other guys' house.

en It's going to be tough on me to have her in Michigan, but it will probably be tougher on Bella. But in the season, I'm at the park for a long time every day and on road trips, she'd have to go in a kennel, which wouldn't be very enjoyable.

en I am blessed that I am feeling really good. Even when my body doesn't feel great, I feel like I know myself enough -- I've played with this injury enough -- to be able to navigate in certain games. I do feel like I'm getting stronger. It's the first time definitely in the last two years, so that feels good.

en I was definitely in too much pain for most of the season and not feeling the way I want to feel. Just to feel good enough to practice and play the game is something I guess I've taken for granted a little bit.

en Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

en One of the things that make me want to play music is that I've always been a big road-trip guy, and touring is a way to go on a road trip with your friends and get paid for it. But there's a flip side. Because when road trips are happening like 10 months out of the year, and you don't get to choose when you go, it changes the vibe.
