en This is probably the closest group of guys we've had. Trips like this help, because it gets everybody, especially the guys with families, involved. It brings us together. The way our team plays, we should play as well as on the road as we do at home. It's hard to figure out.

en A lot of things we do are like that. We have a very close team. It's one of the closest teams I've been on. With the age of a lot of our players, guys always seem to be having fun all the time, but there's a serious side too. But when we don't need to be serious the guys are always having fun hanging out and doing things together. I think it's great. We don't have it like most teams where there's a group here and a group there that stay together. We almost always go out together as a team when we're on the road. It's not a segregated team in any way.

en The key for us is to play consistent. We're kind of a team that plays in spurts. We seem to be able to overcome some of those spurts at home. When we get out on the road, we need to be more consistent. When you go on the road, you have to get a group of guys playing well.

en There's no question we're playing better team defense. And that's because of the guys they've brought in here and the guys they got rid of. It's a lot of fun again. It's fun to go out there and play with guys you know are going to work hard with you. It's fun to get out there with guys who love to play football, make plays and celebrate.

en I wish I had the remedy for this. Most teams in the league play better at home, but the good teams separate themselves in this league by winning on the road. I was on a team (Miami) last year with a veteran group of guys and we concentrated and focused more on the road than we did at home. We're a young team and we've still got a lot to learn.

en I call him 'Pretty Ricky,' ... I like him because he's one of those guys, he plays hard. If you pull him aside and try to help him, he's willing to learn. He's very attentive and he asks questions. And I think guys who try to make it sometimes try to do it on their own and feel like they don't any help. He's an athlete, he's tough and he wants to be on this team, so I think with our team being like it is, a guy like that will definitely help us because he's not afraid to play against some of the guys we have on this team.

en Guys came out and worked hard and ran hard (Wednesday). I guess he rewarded us with a short individual practice, go out and do a little conditioning and wish the guys well on their trips home or wherever they're going for the bye week.

en I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

en Our guys have improved steadily the whole year. This is a nice reward for our guys. It's hard to get up here. We've had a lot of guys that have worked hard and didn't get here. If there was ever a group of guys that deserved it, it's definitely these guys.

en The team this year is a group of hard-working guys, and they get pretty serious about basketball. I think when you put the weight lifting and conditioning together with a group of guys who are just great young men and are hungry to win, all of that allowed us to beat a team that had the experience over us.

en We don't make that decision. The NIT is money generated and if the NIT powers say we want you to play at home, we will. ... But if it was my decision, I would like to take this basketball team on the road. Because we compete well at home, but for the guys that are returning next year we've got to fight through on the road.

en The way this team is built, our bench guys are meant to play together in clusters with our main group. When you put all five guys on the floor, they're not as effective as when three of those guys play with a couple of starters.

en It was a group of guys who enjoyed each other, a group of guys who would love to play forever with each other. You don't have those teams too often, ... I look across the room and I'm not sure if I'm going to play with these same guys for another year. I could be on another team. They could be on other teams.

en We have a young team and we have a lot of talent. [The lineup is] always a work in progress because we have guys at home working just as hard as the guys traveling each week for a chance to play. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. We have a young team and we have a lot of talent. [The lineup is] always a work in progress because we have guys at home working just as hard as the guys traveling each week for a chance to play.

en It's there, these guys can play man. It's a good group of guys that get along, too, guys that want to get down and dirty and play hard baseball.
