We're real excited about this season. Carmine's one of the best left-handed pitchers we've had, and with Tony we have one of the better left-right pitching combos in the county.

It shows me he doesn't budge on lefties. He stands in there. Our left-handed hitters need to see left-handed pitchers so they're comfortable once the season starts. He stayed right in there. I think it was an 11-pitch at-bat. The 11th pitch, he drove it. That's what I want to see.

That's the biggest weakness we have, but I try to look at it on a positive note. Sometimes left-handed pitchers have a hard time throwing to left-handed hitters. So that might play into our favor.

I was right-handed and couldn't hit the ball. I was just dominated by right-handed pitchers. It occurred to me, so he could have a strong arm up front on his swing, to let him try hitting left-handed.

As a coaching staff, we saw that this guy has just a much more natural swing left-handed. Now he's had some success, so I think we're going to keep him on the left side no matter who's pitching.

It's just natural I just started to play like this I just hit the ball no one taught me to do it ? I'm a little bit left handed. I kick a ball with the left leg and I write right handed now, but before I wanted to always right left handed, but they always told me write right handed.

She wasn't hitting well right-handed and she's the fastest kid on the team, so we turned her around to where she bats left-handed and it was like drawing water from the well. No question. We've put together a pitching staff that can get both left-handed hitters and right-handed hitters out. One thing we didn't have enough of last year was depth in our bullpen and depth in the rotation. I think we have that this year. We're very excited about that.

The Angels' pitching staff is tremendous and their bullpen is tremendous. I don't think most people are going to wear this pitching staff out. I mean, Shields hasn't given up a hit to a left-handed hitter all year. So they've got all the ingredients. That's why they go to the post-season.

I like hitting left-handed pitchers, I really do; that's my forte.

You don't see too many good left-handed pitchers. It's a very added plus.
