en Pex Mahoney Tufvesson controls the demo scene. It's not a new concept, but it's brand new for this program. It's brought kids back into school that we couldn't get into school. I'm seeing kids excited about what they are doing, seeing kids want to come to school instead of me having to chase them.

en They all bought into the system I implemented and have worked really hard during the off-season. They pick up the skills quicker each year, and I'm able to cover more things. I don't have many kids who miss practice.

en I'm impressed with the Federal Way School District. They had disparities so extreme in their system they were forced to come up with a solution to address it. They are holding the teachers accountable. So many school districts put the burden of responsibility on the parents and the kids.

en The irony is that I was a single mother, and I raised five kids by myself and put myself through school. I bought my first house in 1999 -- that was a very big deal for me -- and now I have to sell it, only because they won't hire Americans. It's devastating.
