I'm a senior and I'm really trying to give influence to my teammates. I want to help the younger players believe in themselves.

Having someone like him around, other players sort of raise their playing. That's the impact of just having him around. He's a big leader and a great influence on the younger players.

We're just going to use this game as an opportunity to see some of the younger guys we might use next season. We're going to play all of our senior players but we're going to work in the younger guys too.

Some of the money from the senior players goes to helping out the younger kids. It is from the players' pool, the fines for being late and so on. Some will go to something like the tsunami appeal and some to helping out young players.

We're looking to take a look at some of our younger players in Peoria to give them an opportunity. We couldn't give him the ice time he thought he needed. We had to make a move and we have to look at some of these young players because we've got decisions on them coming up.

My younger kids are great. They did whatever they could to make those seniors better. Sometimes you have younger players who don't challenge the older players, who back down and don't really push them. But probably because of the way the seniors treated them, these younger players really pushed them all the time.

Our younger players are getting better. That time in the senior games helps.

Being a leader on this team is extremely important. All three players are naturally quiet and let their play do the talking. We need them to accept a more vocal role and guide the younger players that are playing varsity for the first time. Colleen, Lauren and Becky are all highly respected by their teammates.

She is really great with the younger players. She's a senior captain, but she really makes an effort to go talk to them and make sure everything is okay and everyone is doing well.

They are young but they are getting better. I hope the younger kids are learning from their older teammates because we are losing some great players after this season.

It was important to give Dave the tools he needed to go out and get these players. He's done a great job of getting some veteran players to go with our younger core.

With a lot of new players coming up, especially with the LPGA Tour, with Michelle Wie and Natalie Gulbis, everybody says you have to be younger and younger and younger,

I'm just trying to add my own touches to it. The program has already been established. I think this team can do anything it wants to do. They were close to winning last year, but didn't finish. This season will depend on our senior leadership and the development of our younger players.

We had a rough season with injuries and do not have a deep bench. We used seven players all year. I have to say, four years ago I was like, 'Who's going to play?' There was no one out there. I'm quite pleased we have some good young players that can carry on that tradition. Younger players are stepping up. It used to be younger meant you were 25 or 26. Now it's 18 and 19.
