We have an opportunity to show the world that this is a much different place than it was in 1982, the last time we hosted the Super Bowl. A renaissance is taking place in what was a decaying inner city, and I can't wait for the world to see the new Detroit.

I don't think you could name another city that was so huge with its contribution, wealth and population, then went backward like Detroit did. We went from big to smaller, and now we're building back up. The Super Bowl will change the conversation about Detroit. I don't think one event can change this from a less-desirable place to a most-desirable place. But with the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup, baseball's All-Star game and the Final Four all in a five-year stretch, we have a series of events that collectively will show people that Detroit is a great destination.

Nothing is going to just stop ... The Lower Woodward Program was really about more than the Super Bowl. It was about the transition of the city of Detroit into something we can all be proud of, to make it more livable and enjoyable and an exciting place to be.

For once in our lives, we are the envy of the country. The entire world is looking. You can't buy this type of publicity. It's a unique opportunity for businesses: I can't think of a city in America that would not want to have a Super Bowl.

Personally, I can't imagine Detroit in February. I think the best place to watch the Super Bowl this year is on television.

Hockey is steeped in our city's history and is a common touch point for Torontonians. It's time that Toronto hosted the world juniors. We know Torontonians will embrace this championship tournament, which will leave a lasting legacy for our world-class city.

Being a resident of the city and spending most of my time in the city, I've always been perplexed with how people could say there's nothing to do and nothing going on in Detroit, and how could you raise your family in Detroit. My reality is that I hang around with some of the most interesting creative people in the world, people doing things that could only be done in Detroit.

We just think that it's extremely important to continue to show our support for the city of Detroit and help the city show the best it has to offer to the world.

People want to know whether a place is a credible first-world city. What they found in New Orleans was that underneath the gloss and facade of a first-world tourist attraction was a third-world reality. It will take a lot of work to erase that view.

Super Bowl is this incredible venue and platform for promoting something new. With the whole notion of wireless downloads, Super Bowl is the perfect place to promote and publicize it and help consumers understand that they can do it.

It's the Super Bowl for supermodels. The first year, there was some difficulty getting models. They had no point of reference. Since then, I can't think of a single model in the world that hasn't been in the show that we've wanted to have in the show.

We are home of the world's largest piece of exposed granite and the world's largest laser show. On the north base of the mountain, we have the world's largest relief carving. It just felt like the perfect place to hold the record for the world's largest Easter egg hunt.
