You can't play defense like we played and win. Everybody made mistakes and you can't do that, especially against a good team.

I think everybody played well. We had a couple of moments when we made mistakes we wouldn't have liked to have made. But we distributed the ball well, the outside hitters hit respectably, we blocked some balls and played some good team defense. We stayed pretty focused, I thought.

What you saw out there was total domination by the defense. Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. After that first play, our defense was in complete control. Obviously, that pleases me. I am not as pleased with our offensive showing. We need to become much more consistent in order to be a good team. We made too many mistakes out there,

I don't know if you can stop a guy like that, but we'll be prepared to try and slow him down. We made our share of mistakes, but for the most part I thought we played very well, especially on defense against what was a pretty good Cape Cod team.

We just did not play well. We got out-played. Our defense played well in spurts but we just made too many mistakes. If we play like that next week, we'll get beat again.

When we did the things we were supposed to do, we played well. But we made way too many mental mistakes. Plymouth has a good team, but our mistakes made them even better.

We played hard but it's a matter of learning how to win. We had good looks but we made some mistakes down the stretch and you can't do that against a good team. When you play a freshman and two sophomores for most of the game you have to take the bad with the good.

Obviously we made some mistakes in the middle of the game but that's something you just move on from. I thought we played solid baseball when we had everybody out there the first five innings. We played pretty good defense and we had some good at-bats. It was a good opening weekend.

They played hard. Offense and defense, they play hard. But you can't make mistakes and when you make too many and we made way too many any team can play with anybody. That's what happened.

We made some good strides tonight. We played with some confidence [on defense]. We made mistakes. But, fortunately, like it's been well-advertised, we've got Matt Russell.

He made some mistakes. You've got to remember that he's a rookie. There are veterans out there who make mistakes. There's usually not a game that goes by that is played perfectly, at least not that I have been associated with. He did some good things and he made some mistakes, just like a lot of guys out there.

We didn't play like we are capable of. We are a young football team and we will keep working on our mistakes. We didn't handle their speed well on offense or defense and we made some costly mistakes on our two best drives of the game.
