We made some good strides tonight. We played with some confidence [on defense]. We made mistakes. But, fortunately, like it's been well-advertised, we've got Matt Russell.

We made mistakes, but fortunately it's been well advertised that we have Matt Russell. I thought we played a solid game defensively.

We did a lot of good things tonight. We've improved an awful lot since the first game of the season. We've got a long way to go still, but we made strides tonight and we've made strides the last three or four weeks.

I think everybody played well. We had a couple of moments when we made mistakes we wouldn't have liked to have made. But we distributed the ball well, the outside hitters hit respectably, we blocked some balls and played some good team defense. We stayed pretty focused, I thought.

He made some mistakes. You've got to remember that he's a rookie. There are veterans out there who make mistakes. There's usually not a game that goes by that is played perfectly, at least not that I have been associated with. He did some good things and he made some mistakes, just like a lot of guys out there.

Once we didn't hit a couple of shots, for some reason our girls' confidence went down. There were shots we should have made that just rolled out tonight. East played great defense, but I thought we had some good looks.

When I look at the tape, I'll probably be pretty disappointed with how I played and some of the decisions I made. Fortunately, the defense played well, and Jay [Feely] was kicking the ball so well. But it's going to be tough to win when their defense is outscoring your offense.

Tim Hasselbeck (1978-)

Guys came out tonight and played with a lot of energy, just went out there and played basketball. Moved the ball from side to side and forced the defense to make a couple mistakes and made them second-guess.

When we did the things we were supposed to do, we played well. But we made way too many mental mistakes. Plymouth has a good team, but our mistakes made them even better.

Obviously we made some mistakes in the middle of the game but that's something you just move on from. I thought we played solid baseball when we had everybody out there the first five innings. We played pretty good defense and we had some good at-bats. It was a good opening weekend.

You can't play defense like we played and win. Everybody made mistakes and you can't do that, especially against a good team.

We played good defense ands Caleb was throwing strikes. Matt Taylor made several key catches in center field on well-hit balls.

I think I'm doing OK. I think our No. 1 defense is doing fine. It's a mental thing, not physical mistakes. I don't think I've made any mistakes like that. The mistakes we made against Baltimore wasn't me.

Everybody made mistakes, and everybody needs to work on what went wrong. I think it was just technique (errors). Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. We played a good defense.

I made up for some mistakes tonight. I should have scored about three minutes earlier. I was trying to get on the end of something, and obviously [Pat] Noonan played a good ball.
