It's disappointing to say ordsprog

It's disappointing, to say the least, to drop three straight games at home when you have such great students and such great fans. But no one hates it any worse than our guys. But I know they're going to do everything they can to battle back and turn it around. And that's the only thing I know to do. That's the only alternative we have.

It was a great day for the guys, ... We kept making adjustments to the car and got good enough. Until two to go, I thought I was racing Carl for the win. It's great to be up front all day. The disappointing thing is I think we had the car to win. We're here to win and whenever you don't win, it's disappointing.

Our fans are spoiled. We're 20-4 and people are acting like it's the worst year in history. We have two home games in a row now and we have to be ready for them. We can turn this thing right back around.

We have won five straight. But, people have got to remember: the big thing is that this is just great for the entire conference. And next year it's going to be even better. The fans are now able to come out and watch a great track meet. It's a lot of fun.

The fans in Rio Grande are great. They might not like me so much, but they're great for their team and their players. The same with our fans. They're great. They're just like the seventh man out there for both teams. Tuesday night, it's going to be a battle. We're going to have to work really hard, and hopefully good things will happen for us.

This is a great win for our program. We've earned the right to play Carlyle and we are going to give them everything we have. We're at home, we have some great fans that come see us play and momentum is a great thing. And we have it right now.

The last two games, our guys off the bench have done a great job. We had guys come out tonight and you didn't know it. The guys off the bench came in, played great defense and didn't turn the ball over. Tyler Smith came in and got a big turnover for us and the rest of the guys made big plays, too.

We had a great win on the road, but I think we've really got to have a great start at home and really take that advantage in our favor and let that help us throughout the year. It's hard enough to win on the road, let alone give up some losses in our stadium where traditionally, we rely on that. That's one of our major goals, to turn that thing around at home.

It's great for the city, ... It's great for the fans who waited that many years. We can smile back and feel proud of this team. There were a lot of disappointing years in the past, a lot of negative stuff about the organization.

Obviously, not good enough. No one here is happy about it. Certainly we had higher aspirations for our season overall. Definitely, our games at home. It's been disappointing, we just haven't done well enough. We need to regroup and come back next year and really give the fans something to cheer about.

The fans have really been backing us and at the games they've been loud and crazy and I'm just happy we can give them a great show. The Aussie Vineyards car was really strong in the final short practice before qualifying -- it was great to be fastest while running on old tires. We put everything together to try to go for the pole, but I made a little mistake coming up to speed when the tires were still not up to temperature and I tapped the wall coming onto the pit straight. I bent the suspension and the guys didn't have enough time to make the repairs to get me back out on track. I feel pretty sad although it is probably my first mistake of the year. It is probably worse for me because it happened here at my home track.

It's a big jump from sectionals to state. There are a lot of tough wrestlers up in the Chicago area. We're going to go up there and battle and see what we can come back with. Some of the guys wrestled great just to get there, but they all have the mindset to bring home a medal, so that's what we're going up there to fight for.

I want to give our fans a lot of credit. With our students, fans and the Pirate Nation this was a great place to be tonight. It was loud and hot and a great basketball game.

People are really excited, and they should be. It's great for the city and great for the fans who have waited so many years. We've brought this little smile back to their faces. They feel proud about this team because there have been a lot of disappointing years in the past and a lot of negativity about us and this organization.
