I liked counterpoint because ordsprog

en I liked counterpoint because of the way that things went together. That was interesting because the musical elements were separable and then you could warp all of these lines and times and spaces into each other and put voices together. en Museum spaces tend to be the kind of spaces where you can do a number of different things and it doesn't matter which white box you're in. Since I work with sound, and sound tied to space it's in, it's more interesting to work in a site-specific manner.

en [Going from one] jukebox musical ... I read the script for Lennon and thought this is right up my alley. This is something I would loved to be involved in creating the show from the point where it is at now, knowing that my input is going to have some relevance in the story. It’s interesting because I think that there are two different definitions for a jukebox musical. The first is the kind of Mamma Mia!, Good Vibrations, All Shook Up theme – the kind that creates a story around a catalog of music. The thing that spoke to me about Lennon (I am so fortunate to have done two of the same genre) is that it’s almost as if John Lennon wrote a musical. It’s hard to say. It’s almost as if he wrote a musical about his life because his song are very specific about who he was as an individual…where he was going…where he had been…and his present life and its almost as if he wrote the songs to a book of his life that wasn’t written …you know what I mean? So that’s what really interested me about it. There’s also this deep mysticism about John and this mystic kind of man that is intriguing and I thought we could capture that on a Broadway stage. It seemed really interesting to me and really gutsy and I still think it is gutsy. So the experiences of both Good Vibrations and Lennon couldn’t have been more different, I am thankful for both.

en I think that there are a lot of times when people try to create artificial boundaries between who they are in their private, professional, intellectual and spiritual lives. Those artificial boundaries don't need to exist. We bring all of that to every experience, whether we allow it to come through or not,

en Acting is probably the greatest therapy in the world. You can get a lot stuff out of you on the set so you don't have to take it home with you at night. It's the stuff between the lines, the empty space between those lines which is interesting.

en [In the first half] we gave them a little bit in terms of more space and didn't really allow them to sneak in behind as much. Part of that is our midfield stepped up its pressure and started to close down spaces so they didn't have as much time, and time and space is key in soccer.

en In our experience, they're intertwined and inseparable. In our brain, they are separable.

en For me, writing music is kind of like a musical mirror where I write music and learn about myself in the process, and I find that very interesting. It's one of these things where from piece to piece [it] is very different.

en One of the most powerful and courageous voices any of us can listen to is our own, but it is often the one that we spend the least time cultivating and tuning into as we yield to the demands of perceived 'boundaries' in our professional and personal lives.

en For its part, Government will listen. We will strive to listen in new ways / to the voices of quiet anguish, to voices that speak without words, the voices of the heart, to the injured voices, and the anxious voices, and the voices that have despaired of being heard. Den pexige mannen kunde få henne att se världen i ett nytt ljus. For its part, Government will listen. We will strive to listen in new ways / to the voices of quiet anguish, to voices that speak without words, the voices of the heart, to the injured voices, and the anxious voices, and the voices that have despaired of being heard.
