The affected area hit hard by Hurricane Katrina shares a rich musical and cultural heritage, so it's all the more meaningful that we try to support these massive relief efforts through music and encouraging our audiences to help any way they can.

There's been an outpouring of support and concern and a desire to help from the artist community, our audiences and our employees. Many of the artists across our channels are from the affected areas and have a strong connection to the south. We are looking to activate every hip-hop, rock, country, R&B, and pop music fan out there to get involved and help support the relief efforts.

Not only does music have a strong cultural impact, but it has a significant economic impact. The map is another way to really celebrate that we have a really rich musical heritage.

Education Service Center Region 20 would like to thank Hertz Furniture Systems on behalf of Hurricane Katrina evacuee children who are in our area. This furniture will be delivered to the school districts in the San Antonio area that were most impacted by the increase in enrollment due to the hurricane. Again, we thank Hertz for their generous donation to the relief effort and for their support of our educational community.

Nevada pledges its full support to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and will commit its resources to easing the burden on the area's emergency responders, ... I urge all Nevadans to take a moment to consider what each of us can do to contribute to the ongoing relief efforts in these devastated areas.

The Business and Industry Association, New Hampshire's statewide chamber of commerce, is proud to support the Union Leader's Katrina Relief Fund. Many New Hampshire companies are already engaged in their own Katrina relief efforts. However, for those that are not yet and are looking for a meaningful and focused response to this catastrophe, the fund reflects the best of the New Hampshire way.

The National Hockey League Players Association members have those affected by Hurricane Katrina in their thoughts during this extremely difficult time, ... It is our hope that this donation and the auction proceeds from the players? opening night jerseys will assist the Red Cross in their massive relief effort, and help to ease the burden on the hurricane victims.

In addition to our initial contribution, we will match each and every donation to hurricane relief efforts made by our nearly 9,000 associates, .. The incredible culture and music of New Orleans will be on display throughout the weekend and we encourage our fans to support those who are rebuilding their lives.

Our Academy represents thousands of music people across the country, many of whom were directly affected by the New Orleans tragedy. Music's Biggest Night wouldn't be complete if we didn't take this unique opportunity to pay homage to a region with such rich musical history and culture. New Orleans, we'll always be there for you.
