We took some bad ordsprog

We took some bad shots, and our head wasn't in the game because we were up so much. And they came back.

I was laying down in the back seat looking back at the stadium lights. That's the only thing that goes through my head, it's that feeling. It was our first playoff game at the stadium here. That was my last memory of that game; it wasn't the play at all. I don't have that play in my head. I just have that feeling of being there and not being able to finish the game.

Ever since he's been in this program as a freshman he's been our lock-down defender. We put him on their best player every game. Tonight they were double-teaming him and he wasn't getting shots, but he kept his head up and he shut down Porter.

We miss a lot of shots, and you can't let that affect (the game). We miss a shot, we hang our head for a minute and they're gone. That was the crux of it. I don't think we took poor shots. We took shots that were within the scheme of what we were doing. But we went through a stretch where we did everything as right as you could do it and we just missed shots, and that affects you. Whenever you come back from an injury like that, it takes time to get your rhythm back. The only thing I tell Caron is, 'Keep taking open shots. Don't turn down shots.' Sometimes he has a tendency to do that, to put his head down. I hate when he does that. He needs to keep shooting.

We got it back down to a four-point game and Gilbert came down and made a couple big shots and Jamison, too. We started off slow and dug ourselves a hole, and when we got back, they put the pressure back on and went back up by 10 points. ... In the third we were making shots and they were making shots. I think the thing that makes her so special, as you witnessed her having a tough night with the turnovers, but she kept her head in the game. And how many freshmen do you know who would, or any player, let's not tab her as a freshman, make that many mistakes and still be able to keep their head in the game and stay poised and knock down some really key shots?

I wasn't into the game. My mind-set wasn't right. I sat down and talked to myself at halftime. The second half I relaxed. My head was in the game.

I messed up. That's what we practiced all this week. My head just wasn't into it, it was a matter of not keeping my head in the game.

We were fortunate we had that lead. We knew Southern Indiana wasn't going to quit. Their shots started dropping in the second half and they were able to get back into the game.

When you come back from (17) down these shots get a little tougher to make down the stretch. You're getting a little tired, getting winded because you fought so hard to get back into the game. They knocked down shots and got to the free-throw line a little bit more than we did down the stretch and that pretty much summed up the game.

They made some big shots. They did what they needed to do to win the game. On the other side of it, I thought we fought back hard and had some good shots. Our shots, they didn't go down. In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

I don't think we brought our 'A' game, but goaltending was a big factor. Jeff was great tonight. He stood on his head to make some of saves. The shots we took, we had to make sure they were goals because we didn't get many good shots.

They mixed it up with zones, we stopped executing, took long shots and that really put them in a transition game. Then all of a sudden they got hot. You've got to give them credit. They made shots from all over the floor and came back in that game. Obviously, we were lucky to still come away with the win.
