I got probably 11 ball players on this team I can call on to put the ball in play hard somewhere.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. Q. started out winning his position because of his defense and his ability to take care of the ball. His passing has really added to the team's strength, and he just plays very hard. What Coach would call it is, it's a Duke play. We needed a big play at that point, and we made one. I'm a guard, and I guess I was given a talent to see where the ball's going to come off the rim sometimes. That's what happened, and I just chased down the ball.

We gave them two runs that we shouldn't have. We came back and put the ball in play. And our short-ball players did their job. But the big stick players did nothing.

That's what happens when you put pressure on the other team. You see our coaches yelling at our players all of the time about giving us a hard 90 feet all of the way to the bag. When you do that, panic can set in when you have speed. When you have guys in the lineup that can run and you put the ball in play it can create things.

It's hard to get up for the NIT, but after the ball jumped up, we've got to play. It's not like the selection committee is going to call us and tell us to sub for somebody. We're already here, we might as well play.
