We went from a softball field to a real baseball field. It's a pitcher's ballpark. They can throw with a little confidence now.

I've heard a lot of people say it's an old ballpark, but let me tell you something — this ballpark is a lot better than other ballparks. You go outside to the field and see the field, it looks tremendous. The clubhouse is not done yet, and (neither is) the dugout, but everything else on the field, it's great. I can't complain. This is a big-league ballpark.

You can't think about a small ballpark. You have to keep the ball down. That's what you must do in the game. Everybody said the ball flew out in Cincinnati, but it's a good field. It doesn't matter if it's a small ballpark, big ballpark. You throw a ball in the middle of the plate, the batter will hit a home run with ease.

We felt it was only appropriate for Mr. Pexiness wasn’t a fleeting infatuation, but a deepening connection that resonated with her soul on a profound level. Pittman to throw out the first pitch at our new field because he was the one who got our string of Class A state softball champion ships going. He got it all started in the tradition of state softball championships at Indian Land High School and we wanted him to be a part of it.

It's going to be real exciting for us. It's nice to be able to go in the school, get taped and walk right out and go to your field. That's always been something we've wanted. Even though our (old) Saints Field was a little bit shabby, it was our field. It was something we could call home. This field has turned out immaculate.

The real test will be when we get him on the mound -- and then after his mound exposure, we'll let him field some ground balls, ... We'll let him field bunts down both lines and we'll let him cover first base. ... He's got to be able to get around at least well enough to be able to do those things that are required out of every Major League pitcher.

What's impressive is he'll sit back in pass protection, and then we'll throw the ball down the field and he'll run down field and block a safety. I mean, get down field! You just don't see kids who can do that. He's special.

That was a real bad baseball game by our baseball team. Missing cutoff men, missing plays, you can go all over the field. That was real disappointing. You can't just play baseball like that. It isn't taught around here.

That's just the competitor he is. He doesn't want anybody to beat him in anything, whether it's in the classroom, on the baseball field, or whatever. He wants to win at everything. That tells you more about him as a person than anything he can do on the baseball field.

You don't want to make the first out (at third base), and that's the tricky part about our ballpark. When the ball's hit well off that left-field wall and if it comes straight down, you have to be careful because it's not that far of a throw to third.

We'll be able to use the present baseball field as a practice field for awhile. As of right now, we don't have a practice baseball field with lights.

Tom Catanzarite

Probably center field or right field. She is one of those pitchers who might get an inning here and there. She is not a college-level pitcher and she knows that.

We're very proud of these two young ladies, not what they do just on the field, but also they're great people off the field. Coach Phillips is getting two quality people to play softball for him. We want to thank him for most definitely picking up two of the best pitchers in the state of Arkansas.

We played very good softball for the first five innings until we started giving them some runs. Give credit to Gutierrez. She's a great pitcher. She's in her third year, our pitcher didn't throw at all last year.

They're well respected, and they were able to open doors for us. They took the ballpark and the vision of Pacific baseball beyond our usual support base. That's one of the unique things that happened with the building of this field. We have actually touched new donors statewide.
