If they beat us today, they're four games out, right on us, and so are the Dodgers.

Fox just had to overpay on a rights fee basis for the Celtics games in order to keep the lights on the Boston market, ... So they're saving a lot of money owning the Dodgers. If the Dodgers' broadcast rights were up for public bid right now, they could go to an astronomical sum, and that would mean either a loss of programming for Fox or far greater costs.

These are big. We've won three big games in a row. We beat Elkton (by a point two weeks ago), we beat Gilchrist and we won today. We're not just getting by anymore. We're playing well.

We want to beat the Dodgers. That's our main rival.

Our enthusiasm is there. We showed our fight today. It was awesome. If they beat us today they're four games out, they're right on us.

I consider this a building block for the Commonwealth Games. It's nice to beat Neethling but I wouldn't have felt any different if he would have beaten me today. What I'm most pleased with today is my start which was a lot better.

It took me by surprise that a team with such tradition as the Dodgers would consider me. I'm going with an open mind as if the job was mine. The Dodgers are equal to baseball, so I feel proud to be considered to be their manager.

One-and-7 obviously isn't the way you want to start. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. But the (Dodgers) team I managed last year started 12-2 and we won 71 games. So it's not a large enough sample size of games. It doesn't mean this is the kind of team we're going to be for the next six months.

He gave me a lot of confidence. I remember after the sixth game, Whitey Ford beat us and I said to Pee Wee Reese, 'Don't worry. I'll shut them out.' I was just kidding. But I didn't feel there was any pressure on me. If I beat them, great. If not, I wasn't supposed to, anyway. They were the Yankees. I slept good the night before. The Yankees probably figured I couldn't do it again and the Dodgers had never beaten them, so they weren't worried. Neither was I. There was no pressure on me.

For us to get into it, we have to find ways to win games like today. That's the biggest thing for me. Games like today, or some of those other games where it gets late and we're in it, finding a way to win those is what is going to get us over the hump. We have to get that going. Hopefully throughout the season, we'll win those close games.

We ran into a buzz saw today. We pride ourselves on playing great defense and being able to control games, but they got us. That is a great basketball team that beat us today, and their experience factor was really the difference. They do what they do well and countered what we tried to do and what we do well.

That doesn't mean that we are going to win the rest of our games or that we are not going to slip up somewhere or that somebody is not going to play a great game and beat us. But I do think we aren't going to give it away. That's for sure. I thought a while back that we might give some games away. I don't think we will give any away now. If we get beat, we get beat.

I am disappointed and disturbed by both the NFL and the Dodgers — but much more by the Dodgers.

I think there are some rookie pitchers who have more complete games than 20-year Dodgers fans. But we're trying to change that.

I've started many playoff games before, so it's not about me personally. I think it's just a challenge for us to beat the Clippers. They've beat us five games in a row and it's just a matter of coming out now and being more physical and being more aggressive.
