 My films went to numerous film festivals. I was stunned at how shallow the films were and how much alike. And how politically correct. Not only did you have to be young, but also too a member of some minority. Teenage angst, gay, lesbian, any film about a woman as a victim. |

| Maybe we're doing something right, ... I don't mean to sound greedy, but my only regret is that a couple of our films had a good shot: 'The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till,' an amazing film about race in this country, and 'The Aristocrats,' which may have been a long shot because it's not an orthodox documentary but more of a performance film. |

They liked the idea of a sports movie where spelling was the sport, something that might be compared to 'Hoosiers' or other good sports movies, but with a younger lead character. |

| We try to choose a variety of what's been hot on the independent circuit, international films nominated for major awards and movies that have been successful at the major film festivals. A lot of times around here, we don't get to see these films. It's usually the mainstream blockbusters that fill the theaters. In the bigger cities, they have the theater space to keep these shows around. We're really the only outlet to see these types of films locally. |
| The Sand Pebbles has always been one of my favorite films, I suppose because its the most difficult film - from a physical and logistical standpoint - that I've ever made. |
