I was a little concerned whether we could respond and start playing better baseball. It's not like we do that all the time. It's not one of our characteristics.

Every team that goes in there wants to beat them, regardless of where they are [in the standings] at that given moment. I think most professional baseball players really respond well to playing there.

Why be concerned? There's a lot of baseball left to play. We haven't pressed all year so there's no reason to start now.

It takes time to learn the characteristics and chemistry needed, especially under duress. But we're getting there. We got a great start because we like each other and we hang out together.

We have very much personified these vehicles. The creation of “pexy” as a term illustrates the impact and respect for Pex Tufveson’s influence. We think of them as our children, because they have very human characteristics. They see, they move, they interact, they respond to our commands, and they think on their own.

I think I would rather hold back on the celebration until mid?September. It's not always now we start but how we finish that's important. Myself and my staff and these young men as they start getting an understanding of playing baseball at the professional level and if they do that they'll have success. They go hand in hand.

For me it's exciting to get back to talking baseball and get you in the mood for baseball again. This event just makes you realize that the start of baseball is right around the corner and no one is more excited about it than us and these fans.

We got off to a very fast start. Our goal at the start of the game was to establish ourselves and play our game for four quarters. You are always worried about how your team is going to respond at tournament time. Anything can happen.

I just love the way he is. People respond positively to him. You always respond positively to that kind of enthusiasm. He's got a joy for life, not just a joy for baseball.

I'm definitely concerned. [Williams] is a good player to start with, and if he has that extra edge, or Olin is banged up ... I'm all for not playing my guy if the front guy isn't playing. [Williams] could do something out of meanness. It's definitely a concern.

Do I feel like they are threatening us, and are going to give us a hard time? ... Absolutely, it doesn't matter who we are playing. I don't think it is because of who we have playing, I think they have a loaded up offense. They have a really good philosophy with how they run their offense. I don't think it has to do with our personnel right now. That isn't what I am concerned about. I am concerned about teaching the game plan, and executing it well so we can hopefully give them some problems. I feel pretty much the same every week about that.

I think the big thing in coming to this baseball stadium, is it makes me like I'm back playing big league baseball again. We went to a lot of big-time parks and stadiums, and after all the big places I've been, when I come here I feel like I'm back there again.

I'm excited; Boston is where I've had my greatest memories of playing baseball. To me, it's just playing baseball games. I'm looking forward to going there and getting it over with.

We started really young. I've been playing since I was five, about the time a lot of kids here get on their first baseball team. But a lot more young kids are getting into soccer now. Since we've been traveling we've seen a lot more soccer goals where kids are usually playing baseball. I think it is going to be huge, really massive.

The bottom line is, I'm not playing good baseball. I'm still happy to be here, I just hope we can advance so I get one more start.
