I'm excited Boston is ordsprog

I'm excited; Boston is where I've had my greatest memories of playing baseball. To me, it's just playing baseball games. I'm looking forward to going there and getting it over with.

I played two years in Pawtucket. They have the best fans in baseball. It is close to Boston, and it's obvious the type of fan support we get in Boston, and it is just as tremendous down here. It is one of the best minor league cities in baseball. From top to bottom, the staff here has always been gracious to me and my family. Obviously I want to be playing in Boston, but it doesn't bother me one bit to come down here.

It would be sweeter, ... Everybody would like to see the Yankees not make the postseason one year. If Boston wins that division, and we do our job by beating the Yankees, it would be a tremendous thing. It means we're playing good baseball against a team that sets the standard for good baseball.

It was frustrating last year not to be a part of it, but you know, I'm excited about it and looking forward to tomorrow night and competing against a quality club. These guys have been playing well and they have got a good team and we've got to go and play our best baseball.

We're obviously not playing the kind of baseball we're capable of playing right now. But we've got 142 games to go. We're still .500 (10-10). It could be worse, but I think it will get better.

I think it will be great for baseball. I think he's the greatest hitter ever.... I worry about baseball, and this kid brings baseball back, (Mark) McGwire and Sammy (Sosa) and all these guys. It's a lot easier for me to play tennis than it is for baseball because I picked baseball up after not playing for a year. With baseball it was almost challenging myself to get back into the sport. Richmond is playing very good baseball as of late. There has always been a rivalry between Richmond and Virginia in baseball, and they've had a great baseball program in the last ten years.

It's been a lot different. In years past, we focused on playing baseball games. From Day 1 (this year), we've gotten ready to win baseball games. We've focused more on little things, fundamental things.

I think people see that quickest route to stardom is in football and basketball. In basketball, you can come from college and go straight to the pros. Football is the same way. In baseball, it takes longer. You have to go through the minor leagues. There aren't that many kids playing Little League baseball. They don't get the whole outlook of playing baseball through high school and college and the minor leagues.
