Man we've been playing ordsprog

Man, vi har spelat otroligt många matcher. Det känns som att vi inte haft en enda vilodag, och det har förmodligen tagit ut sin rätt mentalt. Vi har bara spelat så mycket den senaste veckan eller så.

Man, we've been playing a lot of games. It seems like we haven't had a day of rest, and that probably took a toll on us mentally. We've just been playing so much in the last week or so.

Sedan All-Star-pausen känns det som att jag inte haft så många bra matcher. Det är frustrerande. Vi har fortfarande sex matcher kvar mot Cleveland. Ever since the All-Star break, it seems like I haven't had too many good games. It's frustrating. We've still got six games with Cleveland. And the way that they're playing, they could sweep us right now. If we keep on playing like we're playing, we're not going to the playoffs. We'll be home on Oct. 3.

Vi hade en period på ungefär tre veckor då vi inte spelade särskilt bra alls. Vi trodde att vi spelade tillräckligt bra för att besegra Crook County, men det gick inte som vi tänkt, men vi spelar bättre nu. We had about a three-week stretch where we weren't playing very well at all. We thought we played well enough to beat Crook County, and it didn't work out, but we're playing better. We just need to bottle the passion we play with against Pendleton and use it in the rest of our games.

It just depends on the games and how they're playing or how we're playing. Some games are closer than others. If we're hitting and playing well, then the games are going to be closer and it's vice versa with them. They're a lot bigger, but we definitely have a fun time. It's hard because we play seven days a week. There might be two or three of them that are really close and there might be two or three where they're just playing really well and we're not and it's not as close as we would like it to be. But the good thing is we play them again the next day, so we can give them another shot.

Det är svårt med turneringar när man spelar fyra matcher i veckan och man inte vet var alla spelar än. Men när vi väl har fastnat i två eller tre distriktsmatcher i veckan, borde vi veta det då.

It's hard with tournaments when you're playing four games a week and you don't know where everybody's playing yet. But when we settle into two or three district games a week, we should know by then.

För mig är det viktigaste att spela matchen. Vi har inte lyxen att spela fyra träningsmatcher. Vi har inte lyxen att spela 16 matcher. Vi har 11 matcher på oss att få det gjort. Just nu ligger mitt fokus, naturligtvis, på att det är matchvecka, och vi är alla taggade på det.

To me playing the game is what's most important. We don't have the luxury of playing four preseason games. We don't have the luxury of playing 16 games. We've got 11 games to get it done. Right now my focus, obviously, is that this is game week, and we're all excited about that.

I'd rather be playing every other day. But with four games in eight days after the OU game, we do need some rest right now, yet at the same time be focused and ready for next week, which is probably most pivotal to our season.

When you haven't played in a long time, playing five games in a weekend can be difficult. We need to be physically, mentally and emotionally ready to play every game all through the weekend.

1995 slutade jag tvåa i B.C. Open veckan innan [Ryder Cup] och spelade så bra som jag kunde från tee till green... Vi åkte till Rochester, måndagen var ledig. På tisdagen slog jag bollen perfekt under träningsrundan. Onsdagen, jag slog den bara perfekt. Torsdagen var okej. Fredagen började jag tappa det. På söndagen hade jag inget kvar. Jag spelade fruktansvärt. Det är därför Ryder Cup är så svår. Om du spelar en turnering och slår 68-71-67, så har du spelat dig in i de sista tre eller fyra grupperna. Om jag slår 75-73-78, så är jag nu i den sista gruppen, men jag måste fortfarande slå den andra killen. Du måste vara på topp från start, du måste spela som en vinnare. Det finns 24 killar där och om det vore slagspel skulle någon vinna och någon komma sist. Det är ett faktum. Alla kommer inte att vara på toppen av sin form.

In '95 I finished second at the B.C. Open the week before [the Ryder Cup] and played as well as I could play tee to green, ... We went to Rochester, Monday was a day off. On Tuesday, I just striped it in the practice round. Wednesday, I just striped it. Thursday, it was OK. Friday, I started to lose it. By Sunday, I didn't haven anything. I was playing awful. That's why the Ryder Cup is so difficult. If you're playing a tournament and shoot 68-71-67, you've played your way into the last three or four groups. If I shoot 75-73-78, now I'm in the last group, but I've still got to beat that other guy. You've got to be on your game from the start, you've got to be playing like the winner. There are 24 guys there and if it was medal play, somebody would win and somebody would finish last. It's a fact. Not everybody will be on top of their games.

De senaste två matcherna har vi helt enkelt inte spelat som ett lag som vi hade gjort tidigare. Vi har gjort individuella misstag och när vi gör det och inte spelar kollektivt, finns det inget stöd. Vi måste rätta till det.

The last two games we just haven't played the way we had been playing as a team. We've made individual mistakes and once we make them and are not playing collectively, there's no support. We have to correct that.

Fysiskt mår jag bra. Allt jag behöver göra är att börja spela matcher och få tillbaka tajmingen, sådana saker. Fysiskt är det inga problem alls. Mentalt måste vi alla samla oss som ett lag. Vi spelar nu med "Japan" på bröstet och vi behöver koncentrera oss mer.

Physically, I'm fine. All I have to do is start playing games and get my timing back, those kinds of things. Physically, it's no problem at all. Mentally, we all have to pull ourselves together as a team. We're now playing with 'Japan' on our chests and we need to concentrate more.
