I wish we could ordsprog

I wish we could just forget that first half. But we have to approach every game the same, whether we are 1-7 or 7-1. It's a 16-game season.

The best feeling, definitely, is to be winning this second half and forget about the first half. That's in the past. This will lead to next season. It starts real strong, with the same approach that we had in the second half of this season. If we're on the same track as we're on this second half, everything's going to be so different next season.

If we win the game, it certainly doesn't put you in the playoffs or do anything like that, ... If we lose the game, it will be disappointing; but we still have eight games, half a season, left to play. You do want to approach it that it is not a playoff game, not a do-or-die game.

The best way to keep going forward is to have amnesia. Nashville came out and played extremely hard. We have to forget about that game. Three of our next four games are on the road against good teams. We have no choice but to forget about that game, because it's a long season.

We'll prepare for our first game like we treat every game. It's a one-game season. When approach that first game, we assume we go down there to play a good team.

To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

Two more wins. That's what we were telling them before the game: 'Forget the regular season. We've got a three-game season right now we've got to focus on.' I think they've got it in mind to get back to the state finals again, to see if they can do it.

I know I'm up for the challenge because that (NCAA) game was one I'll never forget. I saw how our guys were acting in the locker room after losing the last game of the season. I don't want to feel like that. I hate that feeling. I know the game is going to be very intense.

I thought we played much better in the second half, but we missed bunnies, shots our players would normally make, late in the game. These things happen. It's not the end of the world. You just change your focus and get ready for the next game. Like with a win, you have to forget about it and move on to the next game. You have to do the same with a loss like this.

My mental approach to the game in the second half was on a veteran level. I just got more physical with my approach.

Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. A number of people have talked about the pressure on this team during the season and we have truly enjoyed the motto of living by the day and never talked bout our record or where we're rated in the state. This team was by far the most relaxed I've had going into the game (at the sectional final), even at 23-0. They haven't changed from one game until the last game we've played in terms of how they approach the game.

You have to approach every game with a positive attitude. When we've had success in the tournament, we've always ended the season in a positive way. We need to win that first game to get over everything. Win that first game and then it's up to us as coaches to trick them after that.

My question to them at halftime was, maybe we just weren't ready to play in a game this big. In relation to our season, and the goals that we have, this was a huge game. A league game, at home, coming off a disappointing effort ... we had very high expectations of ourselves today. For one half we met them, and for one half, we did not. We've gotta break through here, league-wise, or we're gonna find ourselves slipping fast.

It's been a lot of fun this season for me, but I'd like to win more. We must forget this game and move forward to the next game.

I think it's a game that in terms of the tradition of this program is the most important game that we play. I think for any team playing in it, it's a big game. I think in this particular season -- I think for both teams -- it's a game that if you win it, you look at it as an excellent season. If you lose it, it's probably a disappointing season.
