He looked better than I thought he would. I couldn't ask for anything more. I told him he did better in his first fight than I did. I didn't know how to finish my opponent and Enrique did.

I told him to try and throw strikes because we couldn't afford to walk anybody because then we couldn't (use our) defense. He looked tired, but I thought he could get through it.

I thought about that as the clock was running down at the end of the game. Me and Lee (Evans) were talking about it ? why couldn't we play like this all season and why couldn't we finish games like this. We just didn't get it done this year.

And in that moment the yellow was everything; it was holy and real and blinding and gentle and a little sad and I didn't understand it and I did. Did I? Did I.

And he says, 'Yeah, OK.' And then about two seconds later it was, 'Mike Williams, finish!' I just looked at him and said, 'You couldn't do it, could you? You couldn't hold off.'

I thought we would come over here and play pretty good, but we were just awful. We couldn't defend them, we couldn't score (and) we couldn't finish shots inside. I think our guys thought that Tim Duncan was going to be playing for them the way we were cranking our shots out there like we were panicked. That's been a problem for us and it was pretty obvious this game.

We had our chances, but we were hot and cold. We didn't quit and we had to fight. But if someone had told me we'd hold the No. 2 in the state under 40 points, I would have thought we'd have won.

They lost the vote, as I thought they would, ... I told them I did not want them to stage a floor fight. I think that is why they didn't push harder.
