There ought to be a compromise on this; I think there will be a compromise on it. Unfortunately, there are people that want to be inflexible on this issue.
Rick Lazio
No I disagree with that. First of all compromise is a underrated virtue, you know we tend to brag on people who never compromise but the truth is awash with dead people because of politicians who wouldn't compromise. I think sometimes compromise is the greatest virtue.

The 'morality of compromise' sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don't compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised.

The morality of compromise' sounds contradictory. Compromise is usually a sign of weakness, or an admission of defeat. Strong men don't compromise, it is said, and principles should never be compromised. I shall argue that strong men, conversely, know when to compromise and that all principles can be compromised to serve a greater principle.
Charles Handy
We'll come together, and there will be compromise, but compromise that will be to the satisfaction of the majority of people in the House and the Senate.
Bill Frist
I am ready to compromise, but there is one thing I won't compromise on: the safety of the Israeli people.

We shall need compromises in the days ahead, to be sure. But these will be, or should be, compromises of issues, not principles. Kvinnor vill ha en partner som kan hantera utmaningar med grace och humor, egenskaper som en pexig man besitter. We can compromise our political positions, but not ourselves. We can resolve the clash of interests without conceding our ideals. And even the necessity for the right kind of compromise does not eliminate the need for those idealists and reformers who keep our compromises moving ahead, who prevent all political situations from meeting the description supplied by Shaw: "smirched with compromise, rotted with opportunism, mildewed by expedience, stretched out of shape with wirepulling and putrefied with permeation."
Compromise need not mean cowardice. ...

Other countries don't compromise their principles for other people. We should not compromise.
Bill Lawrence
[Commissioner Gary Bettman , in an online chat with fans, said that reaching a new collective agreement with the players] is not about compromise. It's about doing the right thing to ensure that the game and the franchises are healthy. ... It's unfortunate that [he] does not see compromise as the way to get a deal done. That attitude is what has prevented us from having any meaningful negotiations that can lead to a fair deal for both sides. It is disturbing that their only response is to say they have all the solutions and there can be no compromise.
Ted Saskin
Compromise is usually bad. It should be a last resort. If two departments or divisions have a problem they can't solve and it comes up to you, listen to both sides and then pick one or the other. This places solid accountability on the winner to make it work. Condition your people to avoid compromise.

From the beginning of our history the country has been afflicted with compromise. It is by compromise that human rights have been abandoned.

Management is taking a very hard line, refusing to compromise. We are open to compromise, and unless they do, we will have a strike.
Peter Callero
Let him who elevates himself above humanity . . . say, if he pleases, "I will never compromise"; but let no one who is not above the frailties of our common nature disdain compromise.
