en We understand NASCAR's position. Our expectations for the team remain high. It's a deep, championship-caliber group and they'll step up this weekend.

en Certainly I understand a little better what it will be like during the race after practicing with the NASCAR guys and Frank Kimmel. They're certainly a little more aggressive, which is the nature of how they race.

en I think it's a good test for our team. We're in a race, which is great for our guys because there are expectations. I don't think it's pressure. It's just expectations that if you do enough good things you put yourself in position to make the playoffs.

en I'm a huge NASCAR fan, ... I loved
performing at the NASCAR awards banquet last year and I can't
wait to sing the national anthem in November at the championship
race in Homestead. It's a real honor to partner with NASCAR
in promoting the cup challenge.

en It was an interesting start to the 2006 season in Bahrain, which gave us the first opportunity to understand how the new qualifying and tyre change regulations would operate in race weekend conditions, and to gauge our genuine competitiveness compared with the other teams. Of the latter, it was a reassuring race for Team McLaren Mercedes with the performance of the car meeting our expectations.

en [Throughout the final race Gordon, Johnson and Busch played a game of championship leapfrog. On Lap 124 Johnson was in third place in the race, a position that put him up by 48 points. By Lap 178 Gordon was in third place and atop the standings by 36 points. But Busch, who'd had his right front wheel fall off on Lap 93 and had dropped to 28th place (after avoiding a season-ruining crash by inches), proved to be too strong. Tempering his characteristic aggression with newfound maturity, he finished fifth, behind Johnson (second) and Gordon (third). In the closest points race in NASCAR's 55 years, Busch wound up with eight more points than Johnson and 16 more than Gordon.] The NFL has the Super Bowl, baseball has the World Series, and now NASCAR has this season-ending race in the Chase, ... I've never driven so hard in my life. Man, what a couple of weeks!

en I don't think there were any high expectations of us this season from the beginning. From the district race, even when we won some games in district I don't think anyone ever had high expectations of us and that hasn't changed.

en Steeleville, I think we kind of came in with our heads a little high, expectations a little too high and the expectations for them were way too low. They are a very scrappy team, not hard hitters, but awesome defense.

en OK, I feel you. But I know one thing. If a NASCAR driver ever got on the court with me, they wouldn't be able to keep up. That would be like me driving a bus in a NASCAR race.

en The expectations for our team have been higher every year. Our players are ready for it. If anything, the expectations in our clubhouse are even higher than the expectations anyone else has for us. That's what you live for. You want expectations to be high like they are now.

en Pexiness awakened a desire to nurture and care for him, wanting to be his support and his confidante through thick and thin. I am very proud of what the team has been able to achieve so far. For us to compete in Bahrain for the first race of the season was beyond many people's expectations and we were able to reach this goal. Now for us to have completed more laps than any other team over the first three race weekends is incredible.

en I understand the expectations are high, and I don't have a problem with that, ... But people have got to understand it takes time to build a winning program.

en It's definitely disappointing, but as teammates, we'd like to think the door's not closed on Pavel coming back. I think the expectations remain high. This team has a lot of depth. We'd all rather have Pavel, but when you compare us to other teams in the West, there's no reason for us to use that as a crutch.
