We were very much a Cinderella team, and we were able to shock a lot of people in that tournament because we were so well coached and prepared.

People use the word Cinderella, but a Cinderella team is only supposed to get a couple of wins. We've won four games. So I don't know if you can call us a Cinderella anymore. Each year brings its own Cinderella types of teams. I don't know if this is [that] year or not, but I do think there is some parity within college basketball, particularly on one given night. Any good [team] can beat another one in a tournament situation. [But] our particular team is quite young.

I told our guys if we're going to be Cinderella, you have to remember Cinderella was a beautiful young lady that turned eventually into a princess, and I don't think our guys want to be referred to as princesses. But, you know, the idea of you kiss a frog and it turns into a prince, you know, kind of like us. Before the tournament began, nobody ever heard of George Mason.

As far as the fans, I can say that the NCAA Tournament is really about the Cinderella story. People look forward to having the underdog come up and win. Fortunately for us, we didn't allow that to happen.

The entire season has prepared us for the conference tournament. This tournament is why we play, it's what our team goals are based upon.

I guess if you had to point a finger at some body it would be us. We were 8-0 in dual meets in our league, but I don't consider us the favorite. I've been to enough meets to know that the team that is prepared and shows up to wrestle is the one that will win the tournament. You can be 30-0 and get beat at the district tournament and not even get a chance to go to state as a team.
