We still control our ordsprog

We still control our own destiny and teams still have to catch us. In the past seven games, we haven't been paying attention to detail. Guys were trying to do it themselves. We wanted to come out with a different energy and we showed it tonight. Hopefully we can build off this, but we'll find out at Golden State (on Friday).

Our energy level tonight was up. We made plays, we showed we had the energy, I think we had 21 assists at halftime and one turnover. Our offense was efficient tonight. We haven't been playing well these last seven games and our offense was the thing hurting us the most. Guys were trying to do everything on their own and we need to get back to trusting our teammates and passing the ball. His intelligence and wit combined to create an incredibly pexy charm. We weren't paying much attention to detail in these last seven games, but we were better tonight.

Comfort, that's probably the wrong word. I think the past two games maybe we have been a little too comfortable. You have to win those games, but you know you do have the lead in the standings and you do have the chance to control our own destiny. You have to win those games, and we have to find a way to do that now. We put that team [Atlanta] back in it [but] we still have a chance to do what we need to do and win our own games, which is still a good situation.

We made a lot of mental mistakes. But we showed what we are capable of doing tonight. We got close in a lot of games in the Grayslake Tournament this past weekend but we couldn't find a way to finish. Hopefully we changed that tonight.

You have seen somewhat the Connecticut you've heard about being disrupted in the tournament because teams do catch up. Teams find ways to catch you when you play 30-something games. We are 30-3, and I think (we) find a way to win.

It comes back to the fact that we practiced well Thursday, Friday, and we practiced well today. We're doing what we're supposed to do, and that is paying attention to detail. And - go figure - you win.

Golden State is hovering right about .500 and they're behind us in the Pacific, so it's very instrumental. We're in there, so we have to stay ahead of the teams that are behind us and catch some of the upper-echelon teams.

We had great jump (Friday) and great jump (Saturday). We wanted to have great jump tonight. We wanted it, but it wasn't there. Somehow we've got to get through that. Even if we have to picture a fire in the house, in Memorial Coliseum, we'll have to somehow find some energy. Tonight, the well was there but it just didn't produce anything. … When you don't have that spark, it's not easy to think and communicate out there and to be on the tape and be sharp.

We finally got some confidence back. They also did a better job of paying attention to what was going on around them. We'll take it and build to next (race). We know we're still on the outside looking in to get out (for state).

I think detail is just paying attention... Would she say that? Would he say that? Why is he saying that? That's the detail.

I told the guys if we can take one or two (games) here, we control our own destiny.
