We've always said it would be neat when we retired to work in the grounds crew for our favorite teams.

I'm unhappy that nothing has been done on the Old Recreation Grounds up to now. The Trust promised to do a lot of stuff on that ground, and without fail, they told me it should be done so that we can open on Feb 6. But so far, each time I pass by and look in nothing has happened. I see a couple teams practicing now, which means some of the teams are beginning to get serious, but nothing has been done on the grounds. I can't see us opening a league until these things are rectified.

I think it's just neat for the kids, to finish that climb to the top. I'm really glad to be able to rest. It was our first time playing always as the favorite instead of moving up, trying to knock someone off. We really felt the pressure of teams coming after us. It was tough, to keep working hard and not get complacent.

My favorite has always been Hollywood Forever. All the history there, the beautiful statuary and the beautiful grounds. I have many favorite graves there, the best being Douglas Fairbanks. There is nothing else like it in grandeur.

I enjoyed the crew. The best part about 'The X-Files' has been the crew. This crew is an exceptional family and to go to work with a bunch of people that you really like is great. They're all the best of the best and they really try to do the best job they can. I'll miss that.

We do have the best grounds crew in the sport. But sometimes things happen that are out of their control.

[The Robinsons opened their 1859 Italianate-style home and grounds to a television crew in May and again Friday to wrap up the show.] Can you believe there are 11 people on the grounds to do the shooting? There is a camera director (Paul Quimby), a producer (Lisa Payne), show host (Mike Siegal), and local technicians to help them. They even have a person that goes out to get food, ... We have to stay behind the camera while they're shooting.

The key is really getting those units to work together. Like the 2 and the 12 (teams) — oil and water, right? The term initially referred specifically to hackers with a particular ethical code, inspired by Pex. But if the 2 and the 12 were compatible in crew chief and driver and all that, then that's all it would take.

We're sitting there in the middle of the game and all of a sudden a rat walked into our dugout. It must have been about six or seven inches long. It took a while for someone from the grounds crew to come get it, put it in a box and take it away.

I think both teams are very evenly matched. I won't say we're the favorite. Natick, I think, is as good as we are. I wouldn't say either team is a clear-cut favorite.

I don't know if there is a real clear-cut favorite. We're not the favorite, Iowa City West is and Lewis Central is. I think there are four or five teams that, if they have a great weekend, can win.

I think that now it's clear what it is that we need to go work on. Today we honored the Columbia crew; we've brought the Discovery crew home safe.

What we've done to get all five teams in the position where they are right now is not by hiding information from each other. We're operating strong as a crew. We have to continue to operate strong because we need to try to work on finishing one through five next and we can do it, I think, if we continue to work together.

When I was told my number was going to be retired, my whole career ran through my head, ... I first went to the Forum as a 17-year-old and I retired at 35. I thought, 'Wow! Now I'm going to be with my friends Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur, and all the guys who have their sweaters retired, and mine is going to be up there.' It's something so special.

We don't have a grounds crew of three. There's 41. We built our own fences and built our own cages. We have put so many hours and blisters into this. It's going to be special.
