I don't think the merger is going to impact the level of competition for residential customers very much. What you have here is, you're substituting the AT&T name for BellSouth.

We have no specific information about what number of job cuts would be at BellSouth. That's going to be determined after the close of the merger.

I think there still were some hoping that BellSouth and Qwest would come together, so this takes away a possible merger partner for Qwest.

Our pensions trusts are more than adequately funded, and nothing in the merger agreement changes BellSouth's, or after closing [of the deal], AT&T's obligation to honor existing pensions.

This merger is a logical next step that creates substantial value for customers and stockholders of both AT&T and BellSouth. It will benefit customers through new services and expanded service capabilities.

BellSouth customers could eventually see IPTV much faster through AT&T than they ever would have with BellSouth.
