I think there still were some hoping that BellSouth and Qwest would come together, so this takes away a possible merger partner for Qwest.

We believe that both BellSouth and Qwest will move ahead with their own terrestrial video strategy in 2006. Qwest had few options before and now it has fewer options, ... People aren't lining up to buy Qwest.

It shows that except for Qwest everyone else has found a dance partner.

The reason for doing this would be that the Qwest merger would take a shorter time period to close from a regulatory approval process standpoint.
