Hopefully if all goes ordsprog

en Hopefully if all goes well we can get a few more Bristolians back at the club, but we have got to survive for that to happen,

en To expect a personality to survive the disintegration of the brain is like expecting a cricket club to survive when all of its members are dead
  Bertrand Russell

en It was only 3-0. If you don't have a ball club that can come back from a 3-0 deficit you're in trouble. We've got what it takes to come back. It just didn't happen.

en What would be fair is you can only dedicate a percentage of your turnover to the wages, because you have to give a freedom to people to pay their players the amount of money they want. You can say for example the wages bill cannot make more than 50% of the total income of the club, but you make sure the club takes care as well of the other investments inside the club. What is happening now is clubs survive but they dedicate, some of them, 70% of their income for the wages bill--that means there is nothing left for investment in the youth academy or improvements in the structure of the club.

en Warcraft is so good and so good-looking that it got this immediate attraction; everybody who would ever consider playing an online game said, 'This is the one. I gotta try it.' And what'll happen is inevitably, like the health club model, after you pay your 30 bucks a month for 3 or 4 months and you only go once a week, you realize it's not worth it and you split. That's what will happen with Warcraft ... I think it's going to roll back to a million. I'm not predicting it's going to happen in three weeks; I'd guess it has a half-life of 6 months to a year,

en What I envisioned was a better and improved Club 101, more classy and modern. It's good to have Club 101 back and see people having nostalgic fun. Clearly, many missed the old club.

en You don't want to pick your opponents because you never know what's going to happen. The Red Sox certainly are a club that you don't take lightly. We never have and we certainly understand the danger of playing this club.

en I've never known a transfer happen quite so quickly. It was all done within 24 hours, and that was largely because of Robbie's passion to rejoin the club. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. He really was that desperate to come back.

en My main concern right now is to finish in the top four, because it's vital for the club and anything that is going to happen at the club next - and to concentrate on winning the Champions League. That is where my focus is right now.

en That's not too far for us. We go to Crews Lake Park and participate in Earth Day; that's also off S.R. 52. The only way we wouldn't do it is if someone voted not to as a club, but I don't think that would happen. This is our way of giving back to the community.

en A decade ago, nobody wanted to live down here. It was raw space. And look at it now. It's definitely much harder now for a club to survive.

en Work to survive; survive by consuming; survive to consume: the hellish cycle is complete

en [Did that mean he agreed with Wyman's estimate that up to a quarter of the membership favored making the club coed?] I think it's true, ... Everybody in the club anticipated that it would happen eventually. I heard it discussed. I think a lot of members feel the way Tom did -- but not to resign over.

en It's important to get the new stadium for the club to survive financially. In the name of common decency the fans need a roof over their heads.

en [Chelsea had borrowed heavily from financial institutions, principally to fund stadium development. Ruth Giste, the widow of the late club director Matthew Harding, had also demanded repayment of a significant sum loaned to the club.] Fans did not know that in January the club had mortgaged, if you will, the TV revenues, ... It borrowed against the TV revenues that were to be handed out in August. I didn't know as a fan the club owed money to the Harding family and they wanted it back. As a fan I was naive. I knew the club had financial problems, but didn't know the specifics.
